Suldaanka Posted January 7, 2010 Originally posted by xiinfaniin: quote:Originally posted by Suldaanka: ^ I don't blame you Xiin. For some people, the very presense of Somaliland army in that area is unwelcomed. For those people, any good thing that happens in Laascaanood under Somaliland, is "NOT GOOD" at all. So, I can see what you mean. But hey, the Caravan shall move on. No, no, not all. But the fact remains Lascanod is a politicaly disputed city, and as a result the security instability sarrounding it is real. That one group controls it now does not take away that fact ya prince. On the other hand, the city you depicted was one of the best places to live. I was tempted to relocate . Alas only if it existed in reality. Xiin, It is true that Puntland wants Laascaanood back. But its all afka iyo baarkiisa for now. Other than the new cowardly terrorist roadside bombs which is not only confined to Laascaanood but in fact took place in many other cities including Hargeisa, there is no other imminent security threat to Laascaanood both from inside or outside. Somaliland army is stationed well beyond Laascaanood from Ganbadhe which is about 30-40KM East of Laascaanood, to Kala Baydh which is about 70KM South of Laascaanood, to North of Laascaanood... Laascaanood is pretty much very secure. The army which is seen inside the city was not there couple of months ago. The only reason the army was brought inside the city was to combatt the terrorism threat which exists everywhere but has come to Laascaanood very recently. So awoowe, if you have any concrete evidence to back what this author of the article in discussion wrote, please do. We don't need vogue threats and insecurity. We want concrete evidence which you can bring about as prove.
xiinfaniin Posted January 7, 2010 ^^'Why should I not ', wrote Ibnu Faris, 'offer a sincere prayer for that city where I had the good fortune of forgetting all I ever learned?’ He was satirizing the city of Hamathan. Laasaano may as well serve the same function for those mutajaahilis who want us believe in security the city is akin to Chaska, Minnesota. Laasaano, ya Prince, will remain a security threat to the separatist entity in the north as long the politics of closing down 1900s colonial borders are sought by SL admin
Suldaanka Posted January 7, 2010 Originally posted by ThankfulSP: Laascaanod Suldaanka, Yassin Juma report from Lascaanod has uncovered the truth about what is going on in the city. NW Somalia's media and admin can no longer try and present their version of what is going on. Yassin Juma show's that even he who is a reporter, needed to enter the city under heavy security and at night. That there is milita surrounding the whole city on stand by. He only stayed in the town for 2 hours. He show's even though Habsaades NW Somalia allied militia is in controlled, people are divided on who they wish to be a part of. This video has exposed the truth that you were trying to hide. For starters, Laascaanood has always been a military garrison, going back to the days when Puntland melitia used to maraud around the streets killing people at their own will and watching insecurity go out of hand. During those days under Puntland melita no one would down the streets of Laascaanood unless he carried a AK47 or was on top of clan-operated armed technical. Those days are gone. Since Somaliland took over Laascaanood, security has improved considerably. You can see it on the streets. You will not find a single civilian that is carrying weapons on the streets. And now people can walk down without the fear that some inter-local-clanish fight will break at any time. Like I said before, the military you see inside Laascaanood now was not there just couple of months ago. This military was brought to fight the menace of terrorism. They will leave as soon as the security improves.
