ANWAR Posted June 21, 2009 Yusuf fought for Somalia and led armies when he was in his thrities. He famously defetaed the Ethiopians in 1964 and was awarded the medal of bravery. He also fought against Siyad Barre regime and went on to defend the interest of his base in Puntland in the civil war years. Yusuf one shortcoming was his bad health that caught up with him, his dignty brilliance in politics can never be doubted. No politician in Modern Somali history has achived as much as Yusuf under such difficult circumstances and Puntland continues to be his greatest achievement. What have Abdiqasin, Sharif Ahmed left and who does Geel-Jire have in comparison? Omar Jess and Xasan Turki, two light weight officers in Somalia's old armies who turned out to be mere warlords who kill Somali's and never build a thing I GUSS JOB WELL DONE
