Dhubad. Posted May 22, 2007 1. Maamulka Gobolka Banaadir wuxuu si wadajir ah u go’aamiyay in dhammaanba dadweynaha ku dhaqan magaalada Muqdisho ay iska gooyaan ama iska jaraan geedka loo yaqaano geed yahuudka oo ka dhashay guryaha hortooda iyo geedaha kale, kuwaasoo la doonayo in la gubo, waxaana arrintaasi loo go’aamiyay in la dhaqan geliyo laga bilaabo 20/05/2007 kuna eg 30/05/07, ciddii amarkaasi fulin waysana maamulku wuxuu ka qaadayaa ganaax lacageed oo dhan 1,000,000 Shilin Somali. Does anyone know how this tree looks like and why is named after Yahuud? I know Geed Hindi(Geed Talaal)but never seen Geed Yahuud.

Sayid Posted May 22, 2007 It maybe a tree dense enough to cover a gunman and his full length Bazooka. A voodoo teller informed Geedi's bitter end would come out of that tree... Unless you cut them all..

abdikhadar Posted May 23, 2007 waa geed bixitaankiisu uu aad u degdegbadanyahay. aad u cagaaran deegaanka soomlidana waa geed ku cusub. Geed jirid weyn leh maahan sida geed Hindiga ama raqayga ama beedaanka, waxuu u egyahay geedha ka baxa wabiga jiinkiis ama kanaalada biyuhu maraan sida Fagooye oo kale. Maleeshiyaadka Ehiobiyaanka iyo kuwa dowlad ku sheega ayaa ka baqanaya in loogu dhuunto/gabdo mafa'y nin ku doona ku waa... Qaranimo doonku ha noolaado.. Haatu Posted November 1, 2012 This tree is a real problem. Some know it as Cali Garoob, others know it as Garanwaa. It was introduced to Somalia/NFD/Somali Galbeed in the 80s if not earlier by foreign NGOs claiming that it will stop desertification. But this tree is a disaster. It kills all other plant species in its vicinity and spreads very quickly. When animals eat its leaves and seeds and later deposit dung, the seeds in the dung start to grow very rapidly and occupy even more territory. It's a hard, tough tree able to survive in the harshest of conditions with roots that go meters into the ground. It's a real pain in the a*s for motorists as well with its pincer-like needles. For the safe-guarding of our flora, there needs to be a Somali peninsula wide purge of this tree.

NGONGE Posted November 2, 2012 Is it this one? It's the one in the hadeeth about the yahuud hiding behind every tree in the fight against Muslims apart from the tree in the picture. Hence, it was always known as the Yahuudi tree.
