Addis Ababa, November 17, 2010 (Addis Ababa) – The new Somaliland President Ahmed Mohamud Ahmud arrived here on Wednesday for a three-day official visit.

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn and other higher level government officials welcomed the president upon his arrival at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.

 

President Ahmed told journalists on the occasion that he will discuss with Ethiopian senior government officials on bilateral issues between Somaliland and Ethiopia during his stay in Ethiopia.

 

Existing bilateral relation between Ethiopia and Somaliland is getting strengthened, the president said, adding, the two parties are working closely on issues related to security, peace, trade and communication.

 

He said the present visit to Ethiopia is aimed at exchanging views to further enhance existing relations between Ethiopia and Somaliland.

 

Hailemariam on his part said Ethiopia and Somaliland have been working together in the efforts to maintain peace and security.

 

He said the present visit is intended to exchange views on issues related to security and peace as well as further strengthen diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Somaliland.

 

The president will discuss with Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and other senior government officials on bilateral issues.

 

President Ahmed came to power in July 2010.

^^ War sug dee, faanka lago ma degdego. For all we know, Siilaanyo takes his red carpet with him everywhere he goes. You already saw that he walks on red carpet when he leaves Hargeisa dee. Marka maxaad ka ogtahay in ilsa kaarbitkaa loo laalaabo oo diyaarada lo saaro marko wadamadan kale tegayo? :D

Deep down in every Somali heart, it is clear they support ONLF, and would choose ONLF over Ethiopia.

 

 

Ps: Libaahe himself is an ONLF supporter, he wouldn't like his Somali fellows to be colonized by Ethiopia, laakin xamaasad iyo rag iska celi unbey ka tahay ee naceyb kama ahan

Ngone. :D You know that is not the case.

 

 

Libaax-Sankataabte. Dee ONLF iyo anagu we are not in good terms like SSC they are in the same basket when it comes to our policy. Aslong as ONLF do not try to harrass my nomads or burn my trucks in hawdka we are cool.

^^ Waa isku mid dee. The intentions of the ONLF are good and noble but when that same organisation goes on blow up other people's trucks, the victims can not be blamed for not giving a stuff about such intentions.
