Did the Prophet ever kill?

The Prophet [sallahu alayhi wa salam] said : “The anger of Allah is most intense against a man who is killed by the Messenger of Allah for the sake of Allah (on the battlefield).”

 

[Sahih al-Bukhari ; 4073]

 

'And he (sallahu alayhi wa salam) did not kill with his hand anyone except Ubayy bin Khalaf. He killed him on the day of Uhud, and did not kill anyone else with his hand before or after this.'

This is a slap to the face to those who say the Prophet was a brutal murderer: whom used to kill with his bare hands.
