Jabhad Posted January 19, 2007 Ethiopia 'set for Somali pullout' Mr Meles said the Ethiopians would withdraw in three phases Ethiopian forces are to start leaving Somalia "in the next few days", Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has told the BBC. Ethiopia helped Somalia's interim government oust Islamists from the capital but has always said it does not want to stay long. Mr Meles said the first phase of the withdrawal could start now that several key warlords had disarmed. The African Union is meeting to discuss sending a peacekeeping force to Somalia to replace the Ethiopians.
Abdi2005 Posted January 19, 2007 Its very clear the Ethiopians dont have the strength and the means to stay for long in somalia, the only reason they where able to reach mogadisho was after the courts pulled out and changed their tactics because off the american involvement on the side of ethiopias.
