Well, there are too many Sh. Shariifs for now. The one we know during the establishment of the Islamic courts in Mogadishu, The one we know during the ICU time, and the one we know during the Ethiopian occupation and the final one we see now nominated as a president.

 

I'm sure each is different from the other one depends on the time, the surrounding people and the circumstances.

 

Sh. Sharif has his allies like Aweys as his opponents now. He still have most of his opponents that are still his rivals and those who are setting trap for him just to make him another warlord.

 

But now, everything depends on him and his personality plus his decision making.

 

This time, Alshabaab are not only against him but they will work on killing him in every way they see is possible. For them, he converted and sidelined with the infidels.

 

Puntland (i've to be nice this time ) ,, is still there to either get the bigger share or secede. That is if they don't want to make revenge for their uncle sam aka Yey. It is their turn now so they can possibly work to fail Sh. Sharif as he did to Yey.

 

Warlords are still there and they will never accept their rival who defeated them in 2006 to simply come back and be a good president. They will either fight or play political games just to make him another warlord and put him in their position so that they will be equal.

 

Do you really think Ethiopia will support the guy who opposed them and caused their withdrawal from Somalia ?? .. I think they want him to hold this post then work hard to fail him like he did to their one before.

 

The US wants someone who facilitate them for their war against Alshabaab. That means he should help them kill all those Alshabaabs or he will kiss the ground just like the others before him.
