Lower Juba: The Islamic Administration takes control of Dhobley

The Islamic Administration for the Juba Regions has taken control of Dhobley, a southern border town located between Somalia and Kenya, after militiamen loyal to Ahmed Madobe fled the town.

According to residents, hundreds of heavily-armed fighters of Harakat Shabaab Al-Mujahideen are patrolling the key border town with battle wagons.

"I see a lot of battle wagons and heavily-armed militia. They came into the town a few minutes ago and they have captured the police station ... without any fighting," said Dhobley resident Nor Yusuf Ali.

Earlier this week, the Islamic Administration for the Juba Regions took over the control of Qoqani, near the Kenyan border, and Afmadow, another southern key town.
