Naxar Nugaaleed Posted January 19, 2008 For Somaliland Cayn region= caynaba district of Sool for Puntland cayn region= Buhoodle district of togdheere I don't know if for Somaliland it is the arabic letter but for rer sool, sanaag and ayn, that region was called cayn for a long time and the people were called "rer caymed". They moved from Caynaba to the buhoodle area.
A.J. Posted January 19, 2008 It is a recent phenomena that people have started to call a region around Buuhodle as ''Cayn'', predominantly by the puntland militia to try and stake a claim in the area. before it wasnt use except as a colloquial term.
