General Duke Posted June 24, 2009 Arguments they have lost. For a number of years there has been heated discourse and debates on SOL politics section. The naysayers, fake nationalists and Starbucks cappuccino enthusiasts Jihadi’s always centered their arguments on a few emotional points. These are. 1. That the government of Yusuf Yey was beholden to and wholly dependent on foreign powers while the opposition groups were in fact homegrown Somali’s who only dependent on the good will and grace of the Somali people. This has been proven to be false; Xasan Dahir Aways is orbiting Planet Asmara while Shaif Ahmed and others in his government, which now only controls Villa Somalia is being protected like children by AMISOM fighters with Ethiopians on route back to the country to “defend it”. One must note that Sharif Ahmed has lost his entire base area in less than a week from his birth villages to North Mogadishu in its entirety. If this man has no base what were his groupies in the west arguing for all these years? Its also telling that Yusuf never lost an inch of his base which covers more than 1/3 of Somalia’s land mass. One must note for posterity that Yusuf staid with his own troops in the city of Jowhar for nearly a year and the opposition never took it from him. 2. The second argument is of the populations suffering; They argues that Yusuf and his government were “warlords” who did not care for the poor Somali’s and that the opposition had deep seated love and affinity towards the population. The second argument is as baseless as the first of all if you love the people you do not use them as human shields and use their homes, businesses and communes as mortar launching pads. One’s deep love for the people can not be translated into landmines outside schools and battles inside markets. Sharif Ahmed’s groups were the first to employee Somali suicide bombers in 2006 targeting Yusuf himself and resulting in the death of his brother. Sharif Ahmed shrugged his shoulders and his words on that day could be translated simply as “Shit happens”. Indeed his shock and tears at the most recent suicide bomb is either a symptom of earlier Alzheimer’s afflicting the man or he is growing as a human being and now values human life more than he did a few years ago. The fallacy of the second argument is that over the last six months fighting, human suffering has increased thorough the central regions and Mogadishu. Suicide bombings, assassinations, urban fighting have all had their negative impact on the poor Somali’s. Thousands of civilians have died and hundreds of thousands have fled their homes unable to withstand the mass slaughter. The mortars continue to rain down on Mogadishu instead of rain, blame it on AMISOM or the Al Shabaab, the important thing is that our poor civilians are suffering still. General Duke Posted June 24, 2009 With the continued mass slaughter of civilians which has resulted in the deaths of thousands, the maiming of many more and the displacement of hundreds of thousands. Mogadishu is devastated no single district is safe today. The only thing that’s new and horrifying is the silence of those who used to demonstrate, no daily outrage of the looters Inc and Ahmed Diriye, no new pomes from Abshir Bacadle. No demonstrations in London and Toronto and the Masjids. This speaks volumes for these people and their position.
