Eritrea: President Isaias Calls for Special Meeting of Igad Foreign Ministers On the Somali Issue

Asmara

President Isaias Afwerki called for a special meeting of IGAD Foreign Ministers on the Somali issue in view of the fact that the recent UN Security Council resolution on deploying peacekeeping force in Somalia is both distorted and one that would further aggravate the situation.

The President made the call in a message he sent yesterday to the IGAD executive committee. President Isaias stated that deploying peacekeepers in Somalia, partially lifting the arms embargo and supporting one side not only worsens the problem but also lacks clear objective. He stressed that if a peacekeeping mission is at all to be deployed; it has to be done purely with the consent of both parties.

Indicating that the so-called Security Council resolution lacks legal and moral responsibility, the President underlined that in order for the Somali problem to be solved peacefully, the peace process taking place under the auspices of the Sudanese government could be facilitated by IGAD.

Welkayit your still here?

spinning your Agame propaganda machine

the moment you discovered SOL and left Medrek was the moment Medrekians celebrated 6 weeks straight

damn never seen them so happy

it's sad isn't it? when your own compatriots don't take your silly conspiracy theories serious lol that's messed up

i knew it would be pointless to engage in debates with someone like you cause it's like talking to a brick wall

i think it's time i invited some of your old friends like Shango or Ambaye to SOL maybe they can chase you and your ad nauseam theories away

What brings you here late night?

Eritrea is now sleepless. Ethiopia may be talked about ICU, but the news is that their special forces that crossed through difficult terrain on mules and donkeys to make your skyline trenches useless in 2000 are no where to be seen in southern or eastern ethiopia.

Its believed they are either in Amara or Tigray states.

What happened your Isayas doesn't like Sudan mediating anymore? He now wants IGAD that was considered an Ethiopian appendage just yesterday.

How times change? so fast.

Don't trust Al-Bashir to go against Ethiopia, he has 1000km border himself and to make matters worst its trouble area that has been kept peaceful with ethiopian help and good neighborly relation.

Why are you behaving this way? Don't you realize that the forum has better class than the ones you like that have exchange of slurs and no content what so ever.

This is news from the horses mouth, so you can take it with the belief that the "good" dictator knows it all and it cannot be bad.

Have a good late night show.

Is there a "higher" source of dictator Isayas mumblings in Eritrea than Shaebiat? Isn't that the official if there is anything called office in that banana republic, news media?

What kind of source do you want for Isayas than the man himself on Shaebiat or it was too late of a night you didn't see Shaebiat mentioned start and end of statement?

Paragon

^^^ Who is the dictator? The one who has killed over 200 peacefully protesting Ethiopians or Issaias? By the way, Somalifriend, if you have nothing to do, please don't it here.

Back to the topic, I think it is a mistake to propose peace-keepers into Somalia and the right thing to do is to protest against it. Eretria seems to be doing that, albeit with their own motives.

ASMARA: Madaxweynaha Eritrea oo ka codsaday IGAD in laga hadlo Arrimaha Somalia

Posted to the Web Dec 14, 07:34

Asmara (PP) – Madaxweynaha dalka Eritrea Isiyas Efiwerqi ayaa ka cosaday Xoghayayaasha dalalka IGAD inay isugu yeeraan kulan dalalka IGAD, si looga hadlo arrimaha Soomaaliya oo uu ku tilmaamay inay lugaha la gashay meel khatar ah.

Madaxweynaha Eritrea waxa uu ka dhawaajiyay inay jiraan in dowladaha Ethiopia iyo Mareykanka ay handadaad ku hayaan maxkamadaha Midoobay isla markaana ay u diidan yihiin inay dalkooda ka sameeyaan maamul ay iyagu maamulaan.

Efewerqi ma uusan sheegin nooca maamulkaas uu yahay isagoo carrabka ka dhowrtay in maamulkaas uu yahay mid Islaami ah, waxaana uu sheegay in isagu uu taageersan yahay maamulka lagu wado inay dhisaan Maxkamadaha Midoobay dhawaan.

“Waxaan ka codsanayaa IGAD inay ka hadlaan ka qaadista qayb ka mid ah cunnoqabateyntii hubka ee saarnayd Somalia iyo sidoo kale ciidammada la sheegay in loo dirayo gudaha Somalia ee ka imaanaya Afrika xiliga hore” ayuu yiri Isiyas Efiwerqi, waxaana uu intaas ku daray Efewerqi inay tahay taasi xadgudub weyn oo lagu sameynayo dalka ka tirsan IGAD.

News from some Ethiopian opposition is that the government of ethiopia has kept its elite forces, which is the largest in Africa (Commandos) has been in the northern part of the country.

The TFG was more than capable militarily for ICU. There was no need for ethiopian army to go into south somalia to help TFG.

Isyas learned of this and was overtime using his phone to call Yemen and Djibuti. Kenya simply ignored him and told him, its beyond any talk, now the time for talking from both sides of the mouth is over. The president of Somalia will not accept any calls in this regard.

Just as Isayas called Koffi Annan and President Clinton in the middle of the night in 2000, he has been constantly calling Djibuti and Yemen.

Djibuti tried, but since djibuti has burned a few bridges with TFG and by doing so with Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia; three countries that cannot do anything the TFG doesn't like, Djibuti was done and ignored.

Isays is very afraid.

N.B. If the governing parties in ethiopia did not insist that Eritrea be included in the parliament resolution, the parliament vote would have been unanymous. But the opposition did not want to declare defensive war on Eritrea this time and the government insisted that eritrea be the same as ICU, the resolution was passed only by overwhelming majority, but not unanymous.
