Xaaji Xunjuf Posted August 26, 2010 British ambassador to Ethiopia departures from Somaliland Hargeisa (SomalilandPress) — Delegation lead by British ambassador to Ethiopia, Mr. Norman Ling has departure from Egal International Airport after a two days stay in Somaliland. The delegation which consisted of Ambassador Norman Ling, second secretary at the British Embassy, Mr. Matt Woods and Jonathan Hargereaves a senior Governance adviser at DFID. Ambassador Norman Ling was able to speak with the press before his departure; he went on to relate the press the purpose of their visit to Somaliland. This visit was a congratulatory visit and a get to know each other of the new cabinet members. Ambassador Norman Ling’s informed the presses that on his two day stay in Somaliland the delegates were able to meet with Somaliland president Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud, his cabinet members, members of the parliament and the opposition parties. On each one of these groups the ambassador told them how his government is a firm supporter of good governance and that British government will increase its support for Somaliland. > Mr. Ling went on to say that donor countries are now looking forward to working with Somaliland due to the country’s ability to conduct a democratic election and peaceful transfer of power.
