Why do we lie so much, since we know it's Harram??

A while ago i promised myself & God that I would never lie again, it's hard cause i keep getting in trouble.

 

Anyways i came across this lady, she was complaining so i asked her, EDO what's up?

She said that her back bone was broken for a while now & that she was hurt.

I said "Edo i respect that your hurt but if that what you just said about the broken bone was true you would not be able to stand right now, so she got upset & cursing me she left!

 

I also used to lie in order to make others fell good about themselves, now i don't anymore.

I can't lie cause i promised i wouldn't but i also keep getting me in trouble by telling the truth!!

 

What does islam say about LIES ?

And what should i do, lie a little??

 

I noticed a lot of people say "The truth Shell set you free" I believe they meant to say " The truth Shell set you on fire" cause everytime i tell the truth people hate me for it!
