Make reconciliation between yourselves 8:1

Recommended Posts

N.O.R.F

This verse has been swirling in my head of late. With the current problems in Somalia I think many should take note and explore this verse of the glorious Qur'aan.

The Ayah commands, have Taqwa of Allah in all your affairs, settle matters of differences between you, do not wrong each other, do not dispute, and do not differ. Certainly, the guidance and knowledge that Allah has granted you is better than what you are disputing about [such as Al-Anfal],

I've been looking for a good read on the above but have only come across pieces by unknown people (unknown to me).

Whats the take of our esteemed nomads?? Nur, you're a busy man but this would be a timely write up in more ways than one

I hope our resident 'peacenik' Xiin can contribute as well.

Norf bro.

The purpose of our creation is the worship of Allah SWT ALONE according to the verse:

" I have not created mankind and Jinn except for my Worship"

As such, no human activity is exempted from the boundaries of this purpose.

Allah SWT also says in Surah Al Hadid :

" We have sent our Messengers with clear instructions, we have also revealed to them the scriptures and the Mizaan ( Criterion to differentiate between good and evil) to enable mankind to uphold ( QIST) JUSTICE "

( Qist) Justice, therefore is the reason behind the revelations.

If we combine thw two verses, we find that the reason for creation is the unconditional submission and surrender to Allah's dominion which is the essence of Justice. Any other option is a form of challenge and rebellion, a Satanic influence on mankind.

There are two types of Justice:

1. Justice with our Maker ( Allah)

2. Justice with fellow mankind.

The first type of justice is a prerequisite and neccessary for the second type to be upheld.

Why?

Because, Justice with Allah is to assign and to Allah his domain of influence, which is EVERYTHING! in Islam.

If That is done, justice with fellow man follows naturally.

Now, based on that train of thought, reconciliation between those who assign to Allah his due influence in his dominion and those who reject Allah's influnece in his dominion, is short lived at best.

The verses of brotherhood are addressing the faithful believers. In Somalia, we have a new breed of Somalis, who have in practice parted ways with Islam, actively opposing the Islamic solution to Somalia's problems, while claiming to be in the fold of Islam. This is our dilemma .

^^And it’s NOT a new dilemma yaa sheekh. What makes our quandary rather interesting however is the disparity between the religious slogans and platform to exact ‘Islamic solution’ to the Somali problem and the actual capacity to deliver the solution. What seemed to be promising Islamic program has been unfortunately reduced to a series of sentimental and reactionary movements that misses the basic directives of masaalix and mafaasid. What are we (I dare ask the question) to preserve in Somalia, if we constantly play in the hands of the enemy to deepen the conflict and give it new dimensions? If we could easily be provoked into conflicts that we have no means (asbaab and wasaa’il) to prevail? And how could you talk about reconciliation without acknowledging the clausal need for Somalis to peacefully and craftily bridge the gaps and divisions between them to eventually amount to any significant entity in the region?

Norf, there are irreconcilable differences between the Muslim/Christian divide. But it’s not an unmanageable one. When it comes to the internal frictions within the house of Islam, reconciliation should be the default mode in restoring unity to gain the strength needed to confront other external challenges.

The following verses form Surah Aal Cimraan may put things in perspesctive.

First it was Victory as you have noted. Allah says:

"Allah verily made good His promise unto you when ye routed them by His leave"

Then, as you have noted, unproportional force was exerted on the resistance which caused loss of heart for the Fadhi-Ku-Dirir believers reason being disagreemnt on strategy, Allah says:

"until (the moment) when your courage failed you, and ye disagreed about the order "

Allah tells us the cause of this disagreement Allah says:

" and ye disobeyed, after He had shown you that for which ye long" Which was victory agianst Warlords.

Allah then tells us how we disobeyed:,

"Some of you desired the world, and some of you desired the Hereafter. Therefore He made you flee from them, that He might try you"

The culprit here is love of this world. What a shame! but Allah is still kind to us, he says.

" Yet now He hath forgiven you. Allah is a Lord of Kindness to believers."

Xiin walaal

The blame game is born out of frustration. Allah also puts them in perspective. Allah says:

" Then, after grief, He sent down security for you. As slumber did it overcome a party of you, while (the other) party, who were anxious on their own account, thought wrongly of Allah, they thought of ignorance. They said: Have we any part in the cause ? Say (O Muhammad): The cause belongeth wholly to Allah. They hide within themselves (a thought) which they reveal not unto thee, saying: Had we had any part in the cause we should not have been slain here. Say: Even though ye had been in your houses, those appointed to be slain would have gone forth to the places where they were to lie. (All this hath been) in order that Allah might try what is in your breasts and prove what is in your hearts. Allah is Aware of what is hidden in the breasts (of men)"

Brother, Mafaasid and Masaalix are considered when you have the Deen in place, when the very Deen is the issue, the most important maslaxa is the preservation of the Deen. Allah Says:

" 172 As for those who heard the call of Allah and His messenger after the harm befell them (in the fight); for such of them as do right and ward off (evil), there is great reward.

173 Those unto whom men said: Lo! the people have gathered against you, therefor fear them. (The threat of danger) but increased the faith of them and they cried: Allah is Sufficient for us! Most Excellent is He in Whom we trust!

174 So they returned with grace and favour from Allah, and no harm touched them. They followed the good pleasure of Allah, and Allah is of Infinite Bounty.

175 It is only the devil who would make (men) fear his partisans. Fear them not; fear Me, if ye are true believers"

Allah concludes:

" Every soul will taste of death. And ye will be paid on the Day of Resurrection only that which ye have fairly earned. Whoso is removed from the Fire and is made to enter paradise, he indeed is triumphant. The life of this world is but comfort of illusion"

@Norf, the problem is that everyone has a different definition/methodology of what constitutes "reconciliation"( especially in the Somali Case).

On what basis will there be reconciliaton and who will do it? Ulema? The UN? Clan Elders?

The second problem is that some groups will attempt to forge alliances, ie create "unity", between various entities that ultimately have divergent opinions on problem solving. These groups last for a while, but in the end they split into different feuding factions , because they were not united or reconciled in the first place, except on an ambigious and general level( anti-ethiopianism in the case of Somalis). Which leads to the question;

how can two people reconcile if they both believe they are right?( on issues which involve peoples blood and wealth).

@Nur, Somali groups were inspired by the defeat of the warlords and then, youths, xamasad jihad hayso,( as one courts leader put it), poorly trained, ill equiped, thought they could score a similar success against the Ethiopian army, which was heavily backed by various western nations. Perhaps, sometimes too much focus on akhira and martydom seeking can deluded mens rational thinking and lead them to committ gross errors of judgement and over ambitious military endeavours that lead to strategic losses?

B. Geeljire bro.

You write:

"sometimes too much focus on akhira and martydom seeking can deluded mens rational thinking and lead them to committ gross errors of judgement"

Brother.

Allah says:

" They are the ones who said about their killed brethren while they themselves sat (at home watching TV): "If only they had listened to us, they would not have been killed." Say: "Avert death from your ownselves, if you speak the truth"

" If a wound (and killing) has touched you, be sure a similar wound (and killing) has touched the others. And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns, that Allah may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. And Allah likes not the Zalimun (wrongdoers)."

Every issue has many perspective views. I can understand yours, and Xiin's. Attributing defeat to poor training and material dimension alone, could it be that Allah took away that victory because we dont deserve it yet! as most of us are armchair Generals.

The zeal and fervor ( Xamaasada) of the youth in Somalia is as important as the wise judgement of our elderly, they complement each other, together, they can liberate Somalia from the Ethiopian occupation and their bloody warlord prostitutes.

A person who is focused on akhira is never in dilusion, never has the longing for akhira been interpreted as a delusion. If the word has any application, its the love of this world, its power, success, and goodness which is what the Quraan has described as " Ghuruur" (meaning delsuion) and "lacibun wa lahw" meaning (waste of time and fun).

A quick examination of the Quraan shows that the longing for akhira is a quality in people Allah SWT loves. About the best men who walked on earth, the Prophets and Messengers , Allah SWT says , " Innaa akhlasnaahum, bi khaalisatin dhikraa ad daar, wa innahum cindanaa laminal mustafaynal akhyaar" meaning ( We have chosen these (prophets) for the characteristic of longing for the akhira, and because of that reason, they are in (Allah's perspective) the best honorable picks)

As for errors of judgement, the youth of the Somali resistance as well as the superpowers and surrogates in between, they all commit them, what counts most at the end of this life's journey is " Fa man zuxzixa cani naari wa udkhila al jannata faqad faaz, wa mal xayaatu dunyaa illaa mataacul ghuruur" meaning ( He who is caused to slide away from hell and casued to enter paradise is indeed the WINNER, life on earth is but an enjoyment of DELUSION.

If we judge events that took place in the confrontation of battle of UXUD (in which the Muslims initially won the battle only to be routed after their distraction with WORLDLY gains and spoils of the battle )with your perspective, can we say that, those archers remaining alone on top of the mountain of Uxud following the order of the Prophet SAWS were DELUDED with their love of akhira?.

@Nur, I apologise for those words, it came out in the wrong way, which was unintended. I shall clarify what I meant, soon, inshallah.
