When asked about the invasion of the southern part of Somaliland by the notorious warlord Abdulahi Yusuf, she dismissed the warlord as a political failure.

 

In her opinion, the main incentive why Yusuf invaded Somaliland was to loot food aid shipped to the region by the government of Somaliland. His other aim was to provoke the war with Somaliland in order to disrupt the peace in the stable Somaliland.
