The situation back then in the peaceful 6 months was not that different from today. Al Shabaab were live and kicking back then along side the ICU, they just coexisted peacefully I don’t know where this notion that they came under a centralised organisation led by him came from.

 

But the question that needs to be asked if he didn’t negotiate with the TFG would the Ethiopians be gone from Mogadishu today?

You are rewriting history again, saaxib. As far as we all knew back then the Shabaab movement was the military wing of the Courts. This business of 'coexisting peacefully' is a new twist that did not exist at the time. I don't recall hearing about it being the ICU & Al shabaab show. It was the ICU all the way (with a few murmers about it being a loose coaliation of sorts). But, at the time, the undisputed truth was that Sh. Sharif and Sh. Aways were in charge.

 

Do a Xiin at least and admit that he made mistakes and you are giving him the benefit of the doubt again, saaxib. But to brush aside all his mistakes as being those of others is a bit iffy.

lol..... and these brothers are accusing me of rewriting history. Everybody knows our brother called on all Somalis to wage war against Ethiopians troops way before an attack was made on Badiao. Furthermore, our brother claimed that any foreign troops, including other Africans, would be seen as invaders too. WHat changed today and how is it Islamic to call for more African brothers and be protected by aminisom tanks? Today he backtracked on that position and many other aqeedah positions on Somalia, which is why the resistance groups reject his deal, not because of any of the points xiin drew up.
