Shirwac Posted April 4, 2005 What can we do? How much of an effect will it have if we sign a letter condemning the Saudi injustice against the six Somalis, and send it to any organization that can give justice to all foreigners living in the Arab kingdom? No effect whatsoever. Only the US can pressure the Saudi government, but knowing they are partners, knowing the US doesn't care about Somalia or Somalis, it will not pressure the Saudi government. Socod_badne Posted April 4, 2005 Somalis dont need to do anything, the Saudis are digging their own grave with every act of this kind. In today's world, where every corner of the globe is connected via the media, every muslim will know everything that happens in Saudi Arabia. As muslim I'm 100% against this sort of punishment irrespective of what sharia law, which seems to mandate this type of punishment, although not in the case of robbery and kidnapping. That is why our somali fore-fathers said NO to sharia Law and that is why I say the same. The only Islamic law we muslims are obliged to follow are those in the Quran, everthing else is up to the individual really.
NinBrown Posted April 4, 2005 Socod_Badne...sharia law is what the quran amd sunnah of the prophet say....if you refuse to belive it or live by it..then your rejecting the deen of al-islam. The islamic religion is a whole package...you cant take the theological(belive in the heart) part and leave the practical aspect(sharia law) aside..its all or nothing. I can see your little emotional at the moment..but please reflect and think about your above comments and repent to allah and seek foregiveness bro. may allah make it easy for all of us
OG_Girl Posted April 5, 2005 Socod, eska amos.Muslims aren't Islam . What ever we agree with Saudis or not they are humanbeen, Islam is way of life. Islam is perfect but human are far from perfection!. As Ali(sa) said :"The Quran is but ink and paper, and it does not speak for itself. Instead, it is human beings who give effect to it according to their limited personal judgments and opinions". So don't put Human mistakes on the Islam! This is their own limit understanding as human about Quraan and Sunnah but not Islam itself! Salam
Waranle_Warrior Posted April 5, 2005 Hypocrisy has become a way of life huh???????? Innocent Somalis die everywhere be it in Somalia, or on their way migrating to Yemen/Libya/Italy, has anyone showed care huh? These men were allegedly convicted of highway robberies, what about the innocents who haven't commited any crime dieing every day for nothing. Lets be sensible and not overreact. PS: Not suggesting the judgement was fair.
