General Duke Posted December 23, 2008 Much has been made about the fate of the President Abdullahi Yusuf tied to that of the Puntland state. Puntland should stay as it is, a Somali state seeking a better Somalia. It might seek a policy of isolationism for a period of time and take a defensive posture when it comes to the south but it should not declare itself independent of the Somali republic. cabdi-casse Posted December 23, 2008 Walaal, I really puzzled at PL and this idea of seceding when PL was anti-secession for so long and now might consider it. Is there any truth in this.
Che -Guevara Posted December 23, 2008 ^Nobody is seceding, and no one habors such idea in Puntland.
General Duke Posted December 23, 2008 ^^^Che adeer there is a movement to secede in Puntland, so dont rule it out.
Thankful Posted December 23, 2008 Puntland will definitely secede (depending on the outcome of Abdullahi Yusuf), it's not a question of if, but when. We will have no relations with the new government. Who will more then likely be led by Nur Cade or Sheik Sharif. The annoucement will be made at the right time, sooner or later. I am not sure if they will seek independance, because it will never come. But they definitely want nothing to do with the south.
Xaaji Xunjuf Posted December 23, 2008 yes puntland is a clan state so there for they want there own country either the president must hail from there tribe or esle they are going to secceede thats how it is
General Duke Posted December 23, 2008 Isolation for a period of time. Will help concentrate our minds and independence of purpose is what we should seek. Puntland must turn its attention to dealing with pressing local issues and let the south deal with its own issues. But we will not break up.. Xaji we are a superstate within Somalia, and you can do nothing about it.

General Duke Posted December 23, 2008 ^^^Adeer I dont know why you are talking to yourself. Your mini state had a major war remmeber between Egaal & Tuur, they never conceded to each other Egaal beat the dude up. Thus take the "you guys" comments some where else old boy As for the comments about Djibouti, its a ****** deal and nothing to do with the opposition how can they manage 550 MP's? Its like saying we dont want a government Abdullahi agree to it.

General Duke Posted December 23, 2008 ^^^They are the hawk’s , the old warriors and the new guard who have not forgotten what happened in the south in 1991. They are those who lost their homes and loved ones because of the actions of clan maniacs. That’s who they are and trust me if they win the argument, then its bye Somaliweyn for at least a decade. We get nothing from Somaliweyn, our economy is self sufficient and the reality of our population, our land mass and the resources of our regions would mean its time to move on if they win the argument.
