N.O.R.F Posted May 29, 2007 Somali government appeals for the replacement of Arab League envoy Aweys Osman Yusuf Mogadishu 28, May.07 ( Sh.M.Network) The Somali transitional government asked for the replacement of the Arab League envoy for the Horn of African nation after he was accused of being biased with the routed Union of Islamic Courts. According to Asharqalawsat newspaper, the Somali government appealed to the general-secretary of the League, Amir Mussa, for the replacement of Abdalla Al-Ureymi, the League ambassador to Somalia as it blamed him for dishonoring some of the government ministers during the Islamist power in the country. The paper reported that the request was made by Somalia Prime Minister, Ali Mohammed Gedi who said the interim government preferred an impartial diplomat from the League to take the position of the current envoy for the war-torn country.
