Taako Man Posted March 3, 2007 ^ The government has selected delegation heads and is moving to organize the security apparatus and the flights/travel accomodations of 3000 people. Surely you don't expect this will happen over night? I even hear Sheik Shariif might be attending so who knows what might develop. Interesting developments I think. Wisdom_Seeker Posted March 3, 2007 ^^ The government had two years. Did the idea of reconciliation just come after the Ethiopian invasion? Surely they were thinking and preparing a nation wide reconciliation meeting two years ago. By now the meeting should have taken place.
Taako Man Posted March 3, 2007 ^ Surely a government needs security, established (However established a system can be in Somalia) ministries, tools and a presence in it's national capital before a reconciliation meeting can be held. Or do you want the Mustard before the hotdog?
Wisdom_Seeker Posted March 3, 2007 ^^ So far there is no security established, and it doesn’t seem like their will be any security established in the future. The AU troops aren’t there to take care of the mortar attacks; them arriving in Somalia unannounced speaks volumes. The Ethiopian and TFG troops have done nothing to pacify Mogadishu and so far there is only an increase of violence and people fleeing their house, which will create more health problems. Ooh that sounds so wonderful doesn’t it?
Taako Man Posted March 3, 2007 ^ Wonderful? Ask the guys who are throwing the mortars at civilians. Secondly, Somalia governments have failed for the last 14 attempts. This is the closest we've had to a succesful government with control of 15 gobols of Somalia. Thirdly, Where have you been? The AU have been (in conjunction with the TFG) planning this mission for months. Un announced to who? Dahir Aweys coalition of Mortar throwers and civilian consensus builders? eh............. Wisdom_Seeker Posted March 3, 2007 ^^^ So far it has being wildly reported that they are mainly attacking Ethiopian and TFG stations. Not civilians, they had actually warned the civilians to stay away form the TFG/Ethiopian Troops. While the Ethiopian troops are using Tanks to fire back at every direction! Thier intentions aren’t to harm the people, but these invading forces. Do you even write the news articles? "The advance team of an African peacekeeping force to Somalia arrived unannounced in the country on Thursday, a senior police officer said. " They were supposed to come a week from now. Don’t worry I won't come to Somalia announced as well. They were all incompetent governments and the only reason why this government is more harmful to the people and successful to foreigners is because they are heavily supported by outside authority.
