He also highlighted that it’s a local driven initiative that is not part of Al-shabaab. The sheikh stated that the skirmish that took place in Karin yesterday resulted after the local clan of Western Bari, specifically farmers were abandoned to take their goods to Bosaaso. At last, the sheikh welcomed any peace process despite the fact that the administration broke prior treaties.

 

From this interview, one can see that the administration has been aware of this clan initiative in Western Bari for some-time. One might ask, why would Faroole accuse this movement to have terror links when he negotiated with them few months ago? Obviously foreign interference is due.

Farole and his supporters are clutching at straws in their attempt to suppress the nature of the conflict. What does "coming down on mountains" suggest other than a guerilla fighting tactics. The Galgala Militia manifest the characteristics of local guerilla fighters. They do not harm civilians nor do they choose their battles inside a densely populated city. They took it outside where they are challenging and exposing the incompetent and corrupt admin of Farole.

 

How many times we had seen dozens of young men from Galgala rounded and detained or killed inside Bosaso or where their economic activities faced serious threat?
