GALKACYO , Somalia Aug 17 (Garowe Online) - The Prime Minister of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia, Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke, and a delegation have arrived Galkacayo, the administrative capital of Mudug region.

 

The prime minster’s delegation is made up of ministers and members of Somalia’s Transitional Parliament.

 

Talks about how Puntland and the TFG can work together will start tonight. “The prime minister’s arrival in Galkacyo attests to the act that Puntland government has paid more attention to the security following assassinations over the past few weeks in Galkacyo”, said a Puntland official.

 

It is the first visit the Somali prime minster has paid to parts of Somali since he was appointed a prime minster.

Very true, with security an issue in Gaalkayo, it is still not even comparable to the violence of Mogadishu. These pictures are powerful, they show unity. I'm sure President Sharif will arrive soon and get an even bigger welcoming. Usually people from the south who arrive in Puntland are shock to how peaceful it is.
