Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaar Posted October 14, 2006 Salaan iyo soon wanaagsan. Honestly, how many of you know or knew the word 'qaadisiya,' let alone its historical significance until that mouthpiece of wadaada ku sheega's website came forth online? Of course qaadisiya is a town's name in the present day in Ciraaq that has a historical importance in Islaam, mainly the major battle during Khaliif Cumar's time against the Persian army that took place in that area. What I fail to fathom, however, is what does indeed the invasion and conquest of Persia has to do with the petty, often squabble with deadly consequences, of Soomaali clan politics? Why the mouthpiece website of the so-called Courts is named 'qaadisiya,' after such an event? Perhaps if it were uxud or badar, most Soomaalis, I assume, at least, would have understood, but qaadisiya, whom, again assuming, bet not many Soomaalis ever heard it. Perhaps our surwaalgaab friends are fighting an invisible gaalo enemy we don't see since we only had seen so far them fighting druglords, warlords and moneylords. Abdi2005 Posted October 14, 2006 Qaadisiya.com existed before the courts tok over muqdisho, it was an ordinary islamic website before that so the name has nothing to do with the islamic courts.
