Cowke Posted October 9, 2009 Somalia: Puntland Police Detain School Teacher(RBC News) Published on: October 7,2009 Garowe Time 6:37 pm Abdalla Muumin RBC Radio Bosaso- (RBC Radio News):- Puntland’s intelligence unit “PIS” has today captured a secondary school teacher in Bosaso, the school administration told RBC Radio. The school students had said they saw police forces entered the school and had taken away with Ali Guray, who was one of Sheikh Hamdan secondary school teachers in Bosasso. The detained teacher was teaching Islamic studies in the secondary classes. “Police forces carrying battle wagon vehicles arrived at the school today morning while the students and teachers were in classes”, one of students said in anonymity condition. There are no further details of detention and the school administration has revealed no report of this arrest while contacting, but sources close to the school said the teacher was on suspicious with any links to the islamist groups in the southern part of the country. RBC learned that the detained teacher, Ali Guray is now in unknown custody where he is questioned. PIS, the intelligence unit of the semi autonomous region of Puntland has already detained well-known religious men and school teachers with relation to any islamist groups.
