Dalni Posted October 20, 2002 Group of Somali Intellectuals Said Barred by Ethiopia from Peace Talks A committee appointed to work with IGAD's technical committee comprising of Somali intellectuals and politicians, that includes the former prime minister of Somalia, Abdirazzaq Hasan Husayn, Prof Abdirahman Turyare and Dr Abdinur, among others, has reportedly been barred from working with the technical committee by the Ethiopian government. The committee was appointed by IGAD's technical committee in a meeting held in Nairobi advise it on the peace talks. The Ethiopian government has reportedly destroyed the list of the intellectuals who are in Nairobi, including the others who are in Somalia and abroad. Unconfirmed reports say some of the pictures of the politicians in the committee were fixed on walls and that they were ordered not to attend the talks.
