xiinfaniin Posted January 20, 2009 Ethiopian Troops to Withdraw from Baydao? Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) - There are signs indicating that Ethiopian troops that have left Mogadishu and Afgoi are preparing to withdraw from Baydoa, according to eye witnesses in the city. The heavily armed troops with combat vehicles have started leaving the city’s airport while their security is being protected by other troops who have been stationed in the city before. The city’s communication to the outside world has been cut, a sign interpreted as an effort to prevent knowledge of the movement of Ethiopian troops and their whereabouts. It is not clear yet whether all Ethiopian troops will leave the city or if the troops that have been stationed in the city before will remain there. It is not the first time the city’s communication is cut. Earlier in the month when Ethiopian troops that left Mogadishu and Afgoi reached the city, the city’s communication was also cut. xiinfaniin Posted January 20, 2009 Presidential Succession in Somalia Tuesday, January 20, 2009 The United States remains firmly committed to supporting the determination of the Somali Parliament to complete the presidential succession process within the thirty-day period outlined in the Transitional Federal Charter. Since President Yusuf’s resignation on December 29, 2008, we have consistently advocated for a peaceful and transparent election of a new president while respecting the progress made in the Djibouti process. We continue to urge Acting President Aden Mohamed Nur, Prime Minister Hussein, as well as the leadership of the Alliance for the Re-liberation of Somalia (ARS), to continue their effective cooperation to complete this transition within the appointed timeframe. Along with all Somalis, we eagerly await the results of the political process, currently underway in Djibouti, which is aimed in part at electing a new president. We commend the High Level Committee on their productive meetings last week and call on them to remain engaged in achieving a government of national unity. xiinfaniin Posted January 20, 2009 Ciidamo Itoobiyaan ah oo dhaqdhaqaaqyo ay ku baxayaan ka wada Magaalada Baydhabo Talaado, January 20, 2009(HOL): Ciidamo Itoobiyaan ah oo u badan kuwii ka baxay magaalooyinka Muqdisho iyo Afgooye ee Gobollada Banaadir iyo Shabeelaha Hoose ayaa waxay dhaqdhaqaaqyo ay ku baxayaan ka wadaan Magaalada Baydhabo. Ciidamo tiro badan oo wata gaadiidka dagaalka ayaa waxay xalay iyo saaka ka baxayaan Garoonka Diyaaradaha Baydhabo, iyadoo ammaanka ciidmadaasna ay sugayaan ciidamo kale oo Itoobiyaan ah oo horay u sii joogay Magaalada Baydhabo. Isgaarsiinta Magaalada Baydhabo ayaa la jaray markii uu bilowday dhaqdhaqaaqa Ciidamadan, waxaana taasi lagu macneeyay in laga hortegayo in la ogaado dhaqdhaqaaqa bixitaanka ah ee ay Ciidamada sameynayaan. Lama oga in ay Ciidamada Itoobiyaanka ka wada baxayaan iyo in ay ku harayaan Ciidamadii horay u joogay, kuwaasi oo ku sugan meelo ay ka mid yihiin Warshaddii Oomada Avv. Xasey. Ma ahan markii ugu horeysay oo hawada laga saaro Isgaarsiinta magaalada Baydhabo, waxaana jirtay in sidan oo hawada laga saaray markii ay Baydhabo gaarayeen Ciidamadii Itoobiyaanka ahaa ee Muqdisho iyo Afgooye ka baxay.
