king_450 Posted September 27, 2006 Somaliland President and The Vise President are extremely over paid Sept 25 2006 The nation of Somaliland, which is one of the poorest countries in the world with unemployment rate of 92% and most people live under extreme poverty. The Somaliland economy is based on a liberal-market system, under which the private sector business is thriving, however the economy is still extremely fragile and poverty among Somaliland's population of 3.5 million is high, and yet the Somaliland President and Vise president salaries accedes that of most industrials countries in the world, for example the wealthiest country in the world the United State of America, President salary is $400,000 and the vise President $208,100. Somaliland Republic one of the poorest countries in the world, the President salary is $412.698 US Dollars 12.698 more that the President of the wealthiest country in the world the United State of America. The Vise President $182,539 just under 25.561 than the Vise President of The USA. The President and The Vise President of Somaliland are extremely over paid and unless the people of Somaliland take it to the streets and protest this will continue for generation to come. Democracy is a principle whereby people in a country freely elect representatives who make laws and govern with popular support. A democratic government also implies that the people can change a government if they are dissatisfied with it, which means that power is derived from the consent of the majority and that government acts according to the will of the majority. People of Somaliland should demand explanations in peaceful manner against the unjust salaries of the President and the Vise President; people should demand a salaries reform in Somaliland.
