IS UNITED STATES SPONSORING MAYHAM, CHAOS, AND BLOODSHED IN SOMALIA AGAIN?

The current United States Ambassador to the United Nations has been romantically and aphrodisiacal manner circulating a draft of yet again a military intervention and lifting the arm embargo on behalf the unrepresentative, unelected and pro-Ethiopia puppet transitional federal government based at the outpost of the Somali city, Baidoa. Somali people cannot support a government which seeks a protection from its own people. A government should be the one which defends the well-being of its citizens from outside enemies and not behave like lackeys to foreigners.

Likewise, the United States cannot stitch the people of Somalia to a government which does not act as a responsible entity. The United States may be in love with the Baidoa entity by trying to impose its people through foreign military intervention and protection, but this will not work as long as this Baidoa based entity is in league with the Somalia’s arch enemy of Ethiopia and beyond.

It is advisable however, if the United States is in love with the Baidoa based entity, the so-called transitional government should then think taking it and giving asylum and protection in its home country.

However, there are many question than answers, why now, the United States government so adamant to intervene militarily in Somalia against the wishes of its majority citizens. Many Somalis have concluded that, the Unites States government is against the praise worthy peacemakers of the indigenous Somalis who brought peace and harmony into the lives of the majority Somali people, after more than 16 years of mayhem, destruction, rape, looting and human rights abuses perpetrated by foreign meddling the internal affairs of Somalia their local cahoots.

Are the United States of American pro-chaos and anti-peace and harmony or has it an ulterior agenda against specifically the nation of Somalia?

Every Somali citizen has a deep rooted suspicion about the motive behind the current U.S militarism in Somalia. U.S has its fair share of failure in Somalia, since its debacle in 1992, when it had neither brought peace nor harmony but more destruction, bloodshed, mayhem and deep rooted hostilities.

The current military proposal of the United States is an African led intervention, even though many Somalis believe that the U.S will indirectly involved militarily and logistically such as surveillances, technical and military hardware assistances.

It seems, the United States cannot forget or forgive its shameful retreat and lackluster failure for its intervention in Somalia in 1992, and now it is planning all over again and whatever it can to revenge and with the help of the worthless lives of the black African mercenary soldiers, while it finance and direct this mislead military enterprises.

Cosmetically and confusion marred presentation of the current U.S military proposal is on one hand, try to ally the fears of the inferno conflicts in the whole region of horn of Africa by saying that its the proposed military intervention in Somalia is restricted only those countries which do not share border with Somalia.

Dubiously, the United States do not comments nor concerns the military activities or occupation in Somalia by Ethiopian soldiers. Somalia’s neighboring countries including the Somalia’s enemy number one of Ethiopia and other less hostile countries such as Uganda are already operating illegally in Somalia

However, the U.S and the Ethiopian ruling junta regime had been conniving strategic conspiracy against the Somali nation. Ethiopia has already more than 30,000 forces and military hardware, and U.S never said a word this Ethiopian flagrant breaches or rebuked the Ethiopian illegal invasion of Somalia.

But what United States and the Ethiopian regime up-to is to obvious for even elementary Somali school children. Somalis believe that, the U.S wants to send as much as many foreign soldiers into Somalia on top of already occupied 30.000 Ethiopian soldiers. The U.S government is more interested in the disintegration of the Somali Republic as it’s envisaged in Iraq than the unitary of Somalia and its people.

Moreover, the United States is more interested in how its Ethiopian ally can have access to the Somalia’s maritime and its natural resources. Above all the unites States is too lethargic and allergic to the newly established Islamic courts who brought in unprecedented peace and harmony to the fast swathe of territory that they had pacified within short space of period, which gave them praise, adoration, popularity, unimagined support and respect across the board of the Somali nation.

But one advice to the united States of America- which is, the Somali nation is 100 percentage Muslims and they like to practice and govern by their religious, as many united States-particularly the Republican Party lean to the Christian Rights.

United States cannot sustain its double standard which is based on its claims that it adhere to universal belief and freedom for its people but deny others to exercise their choice of way of life and beliefs. The United States has to stop its sponsorship of mayhem and chaos globally and in particular its currents adventure and suicidal misguided policies in Somalia.

The Somali people are not hostile to anyone, but love to live as an independent nation, free from foreign intervention, occupation, recolonization and above all denial to their God given rights to life, belief and freedom. As one can envisage, the current U.S Military proposed intervention will neither bring hope nor peace, but, more conflicts, mayhem and bloodshed unless the U.S government rescind its misguided and hostile policies.

We hope, the United States will revisit, take a lesson, its past failures in Somalia and not repeat its past intervention and horror that many Somalis had endured in the hands of the US/UN led intervention forces in 1992. According to Richard Dowden ( 22 March, 1998), the US intervention forces had violently committed gross violation of human rights abuse, against many Somalis, including women and children, during their intervention in Somalia.

The full truth of their human rights violation did not come out until recently. “It remained hidden until, Mark Dowden, a Journalist of the Philadelphia Inquirer, revisited the killers and the relatives of the dead Somalis. It has emerged from his inquires that American troops slaughtered more than a 1,000 Africans, many of them women and children blown to pieces or burnt in their homes by helicopter gunships. It happened on October 3, 1998 (Richard Dowden, March 22, 1998, p.160)

Although, the world media had only seen or concentrated a died American soldier whose body was dragged through the street and the captured American pilot, nevertheless, few had paid any attention the horror and indiscriminate killings that the US-led forces were inflicting upon many innocent civilian bystanders and anything that came the on the way of the US led intervention forces in Somalia, on October 3, 1993.

Some US peacekeepers told candidly about what had happened on the particular day. “The Americans went berserk, abandoning their rules of engagement and shooting anything that moved. Dowden described the account of Shaun Nelson, aged 23, a gunner with the Rangers. He cut loose with the M60 and his rounds tore through the crowd like a scythe. A little bird (a small gunship swooped in and threw down a flaming wall of lead (its guns could deliver 4,000 round a minute). Those who did not fall fled. One moment there was a crowd and the next instance was just a bleeding heap of dead and injured. Nelson shot died those still alive and built the bodies into a barricade for himself. Dowden also related the story of Dale Sizemore, another young rookies Ranger. Rules of engagement were off. Sizemore saw young boys, seven and eight-years-olds, some with guns, some without. He shot them all down. He saw a women running in crowds alongside men with rifles and mowed down the crowd. Holed up in a house a group of Rangers took a family hostage. When women started screaming she was shot, in a convoy a prisoner was shot for praying out loud” (Dowden, Richard, March 22, 1998,.p16)

While Canada punished its military culprits, and Italy and Belgium applied some token reprimands; the US neither held public inquires nor reprimanded any of its soldiers who committed human rights violations against Somali people, although, Les Aspin, then Defence Secretary, later resigned. “General Garrison took full responsibility for what had happened-and described it as a success. Those who died-and many who lived-were given medals. Key players were promoted” (Dowden, Richard, March 22, 1998, p.16). Whereas the died innocent Somalis who did not instigate anything against the US led soldiers, except refusing their draconian policies were not counted or asked for what reasons they have died.

Bill Clinton said when asked about whom shall cover the cost spend on Somalia he said and I will paraphrase “the damages we as a nation had endured in Somalia will be paid by the Somalis”. But it seems like America is American whether the president is republican or democrat it really doesn’t matter.

And here today we have our own fellow Somalis, who are waiting for the Ethiopians to wipe out the people of Somalia, because of their tribe.

I won’t be surprise if there isn’t a single full-blooded Somali living in the year of 2050.

Naxar you are the only cave-dwelling barbarian here.

Like the American Negro, you are consumed by self-loathing. America is supporting the warlords, so what warlords are you talking about?

And what do you mean 'your country'? Are you not a somali? I doubt you are.

You could stand alone and kiss the amerian **** by yourself and thank him if you wish.

You see everything on the net; if it wasn’t for it I would never believe that a Somali would hold such views. Very sad.

people lets not be simpletons please. Leaders bof countries must persue what is in the interest of their nation first and formost. US involvement in Somalia has been two times. Those two times were when they lead the multinational forces in UNITAF in the operation provide relief in 1992 and UNISOM II or operation restore hope in 1993. The first was operation was only to assist NGOs to provide aid. After this become impossible thanks to people like Aidiid, the second operation was undertaken with a more broad mandate then the first. The US was very relactant for to take on such a mandate but the mistake they made was that they expected to accomplish this with less support then they gave the first mission but the mission was even bigger, setting up the un for failure. whatever there shortcomings, the was the biggest action taken in the history of man to ensure people were fed. only thing that comes close is the mission in northern iraq just before the Somali. Needless to say, the actions of those "Somalis" who bit the hand that fed them, bill clenton could not take action in the rowandan genocide. Now, about this thing about the US funding warlords who were trying to undermine the government, with the help of the parliament speaker if may add, there is very little truth to this. We must understand that because of what happened in 1993 among other things, the bush administration was not trying to get involved in Somalia. It was the DOD and the CIA, who gave money to anyone that handed over a suspected terrorist. How can that be considered "Funding"? again, lets not be simpletons but lets try to understand the actions of the united state for what they are and Somali action for it was instead getting blinded by some irrational hatred of America and the west.

The US placed this arms embargo 14 years ago. It led to mayhem and blood shed.

The US also Isolated Somalia, they have ignored every reconciliation conference and even supported some of the warlords.

The change of policy now is most welcome. The US is not working with the secesionist or the illegal Clan Courts. Because.

Today Somalia has a national governemnt, strengthening it will not lead to mayhema nd blood shed. On the contrary this is the ebst way for the Somali's to get back their nation.

A nation that can not recruit, arm and train its national security forces is no nation. This embargo strenthens the rogue groups, like warlords and Clan Courts that will get their wepons from certain countries.

This is not about, Ethiopia or even Igad, this is about the Somali governemnt being able to do what ever other governemnt does, secure its borders.
