Xudeedi Posted October 31, 2009 SOMALIA: Governor of Sanaag Mohamed Nur Said Dabayl spoke at a press conference on Somaliland's aggression October 30, 2009 Badhan, Somalia - The Governor of Sanaag region Mohamed Nur Said Dabayl has for the first time spoken at a press conference since the recent skirmish in the district of Eelbuh in which Puntland and militias loyal to "Somaliland" clashed.[click "Gudoomiyaha Gobolka Sanaag] "We have seen such attacks of territorial aggrandizement from Somaliland," said Dabayl. "But they have yielded no real results for them except humiliation and defeat." The Somaliland militia had entered the town and immediately opened fire on the main market, according to a resident Ahmed Osman. The District Police first clashed with Somaliland militia and it lasted for a few hours before reinforcement troops were dispatched from Badhan by Major Gen. Abdullah Ali Ashur. Several people were wounded and neither party claimed any deaths. The Governor of Sanaag told Dhahar Radio that he will soon visit Eelbuh and assess the level of damage on both property and lives and then hold an urgent Council meeting with the Interior Ministry of Puntland. "We like to press the case of Somaliland's increasing threats and aggression in the region before the Council and discuss ways to enhance security and peace," said the governor. Tensions are said to be very high in Erigavo district and the Peace Committee in the city are taking steps such as night curfew to lessen potential tribal conflict inside the city. The composition of the Peace Committee in Erigavo is made up of Elders from the clans in the city. The ********** clan population constitute 85% of the District, according to UN agencies that operate in the area with mandate.[ODI] Residents went back to business as usual after the Police took full control of the situation and deterred any disturbances such as looting that could have resulted from the brief skirmish. Your lack of confidence has become a primary drive into seceding to a small community that maybe your clan can be significant. Makhiri’s ambition lies in a greater union (Mogadishu) as they are a single unit of Somalia’s largest family. Makhiri’s political roster includes the primary founder and leader of SYL, former vice president of the republic, the most powerful Sultan in the North, and many more of the most respected political posts in Mogadishu. Where you recite songs of freedom as your history, images of oppression ( the plane in the middle of Hargaisa) and burst in tears as god made you a minority in the political power chase of Somalia. Stop differentiating between the families of Puntland as they all are a sub-family of Somalias largest unit (****-block). Xudeedi, You seem like someone that has been fed with a lot of b.sh over many years. The competition in Eastern Sanaag is between Somaliland, as an authority, and Puntland. The vanguards for both administrations are locals. Just the other day, the minister for Education and President of Maakhir Mudane Jibriil were touring the region furthering Somaliland's policy in that region. Eastern Sanaag citizens are peaceful folks. There won't be any major military coming from Hargeisa. We will deal with that region with diplomacy and carrots plus a very small stick.
