Gabbal Posted December 18, 2006 Believe me Kashafa, you haven't struck any gold. I wrote nothing I have not written before but I thought repeating it might be a little bit redundent. It is not secret the Ethiopians are in Balanbale to strike Guri-El and Dhusa-Mareb. It is also not a secret that some forces planned Caabudwaaq to be the frontline in the war in central Somalia. Originally they were taking the Caabudwaaq hatred of Ethiopia for granted and assumed that reer Caabudwaaq would naturally join them some later point. The independence of Caabudwaaq and environs combined with the political quagmire surrounding the Kismaayo invasion changed all that. They then used divide and conquer based on the Islamic religion to crack the unity and make it easy to enter the city. It is also not a secret that the traditional leaders of the city chose to allow a peaceful entry into the city to stop any clashes from happening while at the same time meeting with the Ethiopians and reaching an agreement with them that would spare their city a fight they had nothing to do with. It is why the Ethiopians then went heavily in Gaalkacyo and Balanbale in, what they plan, to make a north/south sweep from Guri-El to Gelinsoor. Everybody is saving their own skin here. But me and you, and the two pairs of ku'taab on our shoulders, know that you wrote more than just applauding the good people of Cabudwaaq. That said, a few questions, law samaxat, I'm kinda new to the geo-politics of this conflict. WHere is Balanbale ? and how does it relate to Cabudwaaq ? Are they in the same district of Galgaduud ? Alleging I wrote more then applauding the good people of Caabudwaaq isn't saying much either and if it makes you any happy, I did try to get back my original post verbatim but without any success. My position on the topic continues to be appearent and even that will not bring a smile to your face, so what gives? *Edit* Balanbale is south of Caabudwaaq and horizontally located between Guri-Cel and Dhusa Mareb though it is west of Dhusa-Mareb and northwest of Guri-Cel.
