Jacaylbaro Posted September 6, 2010 Professor Abdi Samatar – Somalia’s Useful Id!ot How will PhD holder think to oppose growing democracy? How could a professor misguide the world over the recent free and fair elections in Somaliland? Do the world and international media like Al-Jazeera English News Channel believe in PhD degree other than morals of their host – Samatar? How the bogus professor got it wrong in the failed unity between Somaliland and Italian Somalia? Who is an intellectual by definition? Can PhD degree reshape the immorality by birth? The main difference between Awdalites and the useful Id!ot is democracy which Awdalites trusted in. In political language, the term Useful Id!ot was used to describe the Soviet sympathizers during the cold war. Today, there are Somalis who hold PhD degree and settled in USA who support the violence in Somalia over democracy in Somaliland. The implication is that though the person in question naively thought themselves analyzers of the decade long Somalia civil war, he is actually adding insult to old injuries, and is cynically using the Somali conflict to achieve personal interest. Many of Somali Diaspora in America support the failed unity between Republic of Somaliland and Italian Somalia during 1960 on bases of personal, business and property oriented interests. They believe, if Somaliland gets international recognition, they will not be considered citizens of Mogadishu, Capital of Somalia, and they will lose their business and properties. Majority of these useful Id!ots are from Somaliland including the immoral professor Abdi Samatar. Anyone who listen Samatar’s argument against Somaliland’s democracy will ask: Do the PhD and academic qualification reshape the person, or the immoral remains prejudiced? Prof. Abdi Samatar is professed to be manipulated by a political movement, terrorist group (Al-Shabab – Al-Qeada linked terrorist group), business and personal properties. Professor Samatar will support any group in Somalia politics, as long as the group adhering to his personal agenda, whether or not the group is terrorist or communist in nature. Samatar is self-exiled citizen of Somaliland, and prisoner of his own ideas. He fears of been arrested by Somaliland authorities, although it is phobia and authorities did not issue any warrant to arrest him. Even after death of his mother, Samatar’s phobia of fear did not allow him to travel to Somaliland to attend the funeral. The bogus professor insults every foreigner who tells the truth in Somaliland and its democracy process. The bogus, which is originally from Somaliland – Awdal State, attacks every foreigner who writes about Somaliland progress. He doesn’t want the world to hear the development by the people of Somaliland without international support. However, Somaliland always prevails and the bogus fails. Mr. Somalia Posted September 7, 2010 I think that it would be inaccurate to classify Professor Abdi Samatar as a "useful id!ot". That is a term that is solely reserved for the secessionists in the north west of Somalia, who want to break-up Somalia for the nefarious selfish interests of a few while being unaware of the true agenda. A person could call Professor Abdi Samatar an id!ot (I would personally agree in some instances), but for the most part, his political commentary in the past has been one of a staunch, independent, and idealistic Somali patriot. Land_Soldier Posted September 7, 2010 The man hasnt been in Somalia for more then 30 years. He has no grasp for reality. -For years he denied the exitense of Somaliland. -Then he said Somaliland only exist in Hargeysa. -In another article he said the Awdal, Sanaag and Sool folks were forced in to Somaliland, 20 years ago! -He accused Silaanyo of being the first Somali pirate. -Now he proposes that Somaliland take the lead to restore Somalia, and move the capital from Moqadishu to Hargeysa. His statements are full of contradictions. But I agree, he is not an Id!ot. The real Id!ots are the ones who belief he has a solution for Somalia's problem.
