It was expected of the young to react in this way but the leaders and elders of Borama are no anarchists.

 

I agree though that reer awdal have the potential to lead more than 2 ministries but this cabinet shouldn’t be judged in terms of the representation of different tribes in it but on their achievements. Besides government is not only made up of ministries, there will be more crucial appointments to come in the near future. They can also build a strong opposition party and there is plenty who will be willing to join as evident from Hargeisa’s demonstrations.

It’s good that they make themselves heard. Remember, this is a democratic country and not the wild wild south.

This issue will only stay on the forefront for few days. In our neck of the wood, sub-sub clans complain soon after cabinet announcements are made so as to "well position" the clan for any awaiting nominations for the low level “financially viable” agencies. In Puntland, Faroole pissed off 17 important sub-sub-sub clans when he announced his cabinet and the issue went away as more and more “unhappy sub-clan” members filled important low level positions. Unless this particular Awdal demo is a result of a more ominous matter, the mere noise over power allotment will not sustain itself for a prolonged period. Folks will get on with their lives.

It wasn't a real flag to be honest. It was a homemade one and I even suspect no proper pen was used to draw it.

 

LST, I was with Riyaale and I remain so, saaxib. The farxaad most people here mistake for a Siilaanyo support has more to do with the beautiful transfer of power than a Siilaany win.

 

I've already had the 'clan is everything' discussion with Xiin a while back and explained why I never wanted Siilaanyo to win power. Now every mistake this man makes will be one that me and my sons will have to account for. Arr Riyaale may nago cilyaan.
