Reer Burco have always been known for destroying things but I gues this will erase all the negative memories about Burco and its citizens. Qudhac Posted January 23, 2006 red sea who said we bucaawis are destructive??? sxb we are far from it, maybe the toori and budh have intimidated alot of people but they are really not for violence merely for "show" and anyway burcaawis have actually given up on their trade mark now anyway you wont see any reall reer burco in burco they all seem to be in hargeisa these days but these "new burcaawis" have breaken the mould and decide to give their region what it badly needs. not only have they built these factories but they built a brand new university with alot of help ofcourse, they have built large second bridge for the city. kudos to reer burco. reer hargiesa should follow suite instead of building villas they should do something more productive. I had the mind set of the Budh and knife you guys carry all the time and I didn't think you would be able to settle down and build something up; not that I didn't think you had the potential to do it, but your patience was questionable. Just look at Xarago's face turning red. Boy I am lucky I am no where near, you would have come through the screen. Hey Qudhac, do you really think that Hargeysawis know only how to build villas. I thought you knew more than that. Hargeysa had factories before I left there nearly 10 years ago, and now they are countless. In a addition, you mentioned that Burcawis have built new University known as U of B. well aren't you aware that Hargeysa's University has already graduated students numbered 500 twice and they are already working on their respective fields. Not that I have anything against Burco and its citizens but I just think you guys are bit, how do I say, fududay. Let us not divide Burco and Hargeysa since Hargeysa is the capital of Burco and I gues that settles all the argument here; Where is the capital? did I hear the H-town, you bet. Reer Burco don't get offended I love Burco as much as Hargeysa but I just think Hargeysawis are kind of calm to earth more so than their brothers to the East. Assalamu calaykum. STOIC Posted January 24, 2006 Can any Somalilander explain it to me the preponderance of attaching oneself to cities? I sense some unpleasant attitude of pride and self-importance attached to cities. Strangely enough you would be surprised to see a Somalilander telling you that he is proud Burcawi or even a proud Salaaxley citizen than a proud Somalilander. Sometimes I wonder whether the unhealthy fixation with the cities will become the apocalyptic term for the erosion of patriotism. We are kidding here and no need for you to go all out on my personal life and questioned the job well done by my parents of raising me. I believe if we look on how many regions accupy by Somalis that I have gone and lived is far more than you have even heard about let alone setting foot on them. To clarify few things, I have actually been to Burco, and God forbids me saying anything about a place without knowing anything about it. I have been to Yaroobe,Gabiley, Borama, Oodweyne,Salaxley, Barbera, Sheikh, Laascanood, Erigabo, Bosaso,Galkacayo, and Beledweyne. Those are the few places that I have time for so far. I think it's time to come out of the smoke since you guys are really getting serious. I am from Burco. Born in Hargeysa yes but raised in Burco. I am Togdheer native ka awow sxb. I live most of my time between Burco and Oodweyne. Heck we might even relate. Nevertheless, Hargeysa,Burco and all the Somali cities are all the same to me. To Stoic, sxb no body is really identifying themseleves with any city, it's all jokes and nothing serious. Everybody is just showing off the pride of their birth place and I don't there is nothing wrong with that. There is no need for you to interprate the conversations that we were having differently and take into different level as though the love we have for these places are deep in our blood vessels.
