(SomaliNet) Somali’s interim prime minister Ali Mohamed Gedi has attended Friday a ceremony for closing a military training course of four thousand Somali troops at Bali-dogle camp 100km west of the capital. Three battalions of government forces had been given two months training. Giving speech at the scene, premier Gedi said the troops that finished the course are needed to take part in establishing peace and security in the country. After addressing, Gedi went back to Baidoa city 240km southwest of the Somalia capital. Among the others government official who delivered speeches there was salad Ali Jelle, the deputy defense minister saying that Ethiopian trainers had trained the troops. He stated that the new trained forces will involve in the tasks aimed to restore the stability in the Somalia capital Mogadishu. Sources close to the transitional federal government say the newy trained Somali soldiers will operate with the African Union peacekeepers in the restive capital of Mogadishu where frequent insurgent attacks happen almost daily. And as I have said, they lack courage because they are moderate Muslims. They will be around doing inefficient tasks as long as the occupiers are there. If they are the same militiamen who have been killing, raping, looting and taxing innocent Somalis for the past 15 years-- then good luck to the clan government.
