Meiji Posted May 24, 2009 Good job of the Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamaca soldiers. I like how they have the support of the Somali masses in the towns and cities of Central Somalia. They look very organized and seem to attract supporters for their ideology and struggle against the religious extremists.

Naxar Nugaaleed Posted May 24, 2009 whenever the need arises, contrary to popular believes, these Sufis picked what ever was available to them and defended themselves i.e, the darwiish and the followers of Ahmed Gurey.

Sherban Shabeel Posted May 24, 2009 Just give them a taste of power and you'll see how quick they turn from "brave sufi mystics defending their hometowns" to "rebel group trying to overthrow the government"

Sherban Shabeel Posted May 25, 2009 There's a difference between fighting against Shabaab and fighting for their country. The two aren't necessarily related. See, Shariif is fighting against Shabaab AND fighting for his country. Ahlu Sunna is fighting against Shabaab period.
Naxar Nugaaleed Posted May 25, 2009 do you hear yourself sxb: when Shariif does its for his country but when the Sufis do it its just against the shabab...

MoonLight1 Posted May 25, 2009 Ahlusunnah get their arms and support from an Orthadox, christian country called Ethiopia. Alshabab get their arms and support from an Orthadox, christian country called Eritrea. Even sheihkul mujahidiin Aweys admitted that. So what's the problem. Why are they the antithesis, because you disagree with them? Are both groups not Sufi, are they both not fighting for their country? Because Ahmad Gurey( rahmihullah)fought and died to free the Muslim populace in the HORN of from the tyranical Abysnian rulers. Likewise, Sayid Muhamad Abdullah Hassan launched his first mission against the army of Menelik who was occupying the Somali territories, and then he try to free SOmalis from white colonialism for a long time. Also, Sayid Muhamad and his dervishes were in extreme opposition to the Qadiriyah who they felt were apologetic or unconcerned about Italian colonialism. The modern day Sufiya, in contrast, are apologetic or in collaboration with the Xabashi colonists in the SOmali inhabited region. They give many Islamic excuses(bogus) for the people not to defend themselves against the Tigray. So, Sayid Muhamad and his likes are free from such people.
