Naxar Nugaaleed Posted December 17, 2006 Qabiil based adminstrations are impediment to somali unity as they put more emphasis on their turf/clan interests than they do on the larger issues facing the country. Yet qabiil based courts are better? Jaahilnemo heer laga gaarey! who ever heard of courts ruling or administering. People, this a basic breakdown of administration and law: One makes the rules or laws, another interprets them and a third one adminsters them. Only in Somalia can you get a president, a primeminister, a self-appionted justice and a parliament speaker all trying to president.

raadamiir Posted December 18, 2006 Reer Caabudwaaq have taken sides I am sure it will back fire at them. HornAfrique no one can be neutral in South Somalia. Xoogsade stop comparing these little tuuls in South Somalia to Puntland. Puntland has a voice and power far greater than South Somalia.
Kashafa Posted December 18, 2006 ^^ kaagaan jiran, Because Reer Cabudwaaq have chosen inaay iskuxukumaan Shareecada deentina dhigayso.......that makes them your enemy ? Take allat self-pride and jaahilnimo and shove it up where the sun don't shine. This is why you can't reason with a qabil-freak. Gabbal Posted June 14, 2008 Originally posted by HornAfrique: Radamiir- While reer Caabudwaaq already agreed to the implementation of Sharia Law in their environs, this is more a political stunt to appease those of the ICU supporters who could start conflict if they do not get their way. The reason a Court was built much faster then most areas is because of the power-sharing plan administered by the traditional leaders. This is basically a replacement of the earlier administration including the sub-clan backgrounds. The old man have planned it so that they do not get locally dragged into the conflict between the TFG and ICU. Their reasoning is that acquiescence now will be superseded by an ICU run towards the bush tomorrow, in the central regions, after (what they believe will be) a defeat later around Baidoa and other frontlines that would decide the outcome of the impasse. Such times. Laughed at then but recognized as political foresight today. Traditional elders are capable of administering if given the chance!
Fabregas Posted June 14, 2008 ^^The wisdom of using Islamic Shariah for purposes of political opportunism, eh? Or, if that doesn't work , then join ranks with Secular TFG and the Ethiopians; in the name of clan interests! Or perhaps to grow a beard and say, " this was a political stunt to appease the courts". And then to shave it off the next day and claim, " it was more a political stunt to appease the Ethiopians". Indeed, Allah(swt) shall question the odayaal shaydaano and their fellow cohorts! Gabbal Posted June 14, 2008 Brofessor, political foresight those traditional leaders displayed, yes they did sir. Their exact reason as I had written as the events unfolded seemed to have described, accurately, the state of things that was to transpire. The resistance against Ethiopia in the current Somali chapter is just, legal, and binding. At that time, however, I will say Islam is the only and great religion...the people who profess it are not always. The ICU was nothing but a clan opportunist organization filled to the core with opportunists and yesterday's marauding militia supported by the same enterprise who kept the Mogadishu warlords alive but hiding behind a thin veneer displaying a few religious good men around a table. The sorting of the genuine from the opportunists occured after the Ethiopian invasion, when the clan opportunists could not endure the heat an so ran while those of the genuine shiekhs such as Sheikh Turki, Cayroow, and Abu Mansuur continue fighting. You can disagree with their ideology but you cannot disagree of their genuine objectives. When the going gets tough, such things become visible to the visible eyes. The traditional leaders of that town correctly analyzed the state of things in Somalia, deduced the long-term events to follow, and decided it was better to wait it out then risk destruction of their land and livelihood fighting a temporary battle in which sections of their own people were manipulated using the religion they all professed. Many of that town appreciate their political foresight!
