General Duke Posted January 1, 2008 Oda, its funny that a secessionist is talking about Somali nationalisam. The hypocracy of the secessionist fringe group is quite immoral. The TFG defeated the most powerful armed groups in Somalia. The secessionist are nothing to worry about, hence their new found love of Somalia and its people. Some even pretend to be religious. Armchair Politician Posted January 2, 2008 It's interesting that you use the term "Great Leap Forward" coined by Mao Zedong, as there are interesting parallels. Mao's "Great Leap Forward" was in fact two things, a massive purge of leadership leaving him with godlike power in China with noone able to stop him, and a massive sale of food and resources to the Soviet Union in exchange for military hardware. The ensuing mass-killings and famine killed 100 million Chinese, and did not speed up industrialization or modernization by a considerable degree. It did however solidify Mao's rule as the god-emperor of China. Things were so bad that in the countryside, peasants ate tree bark and leaves and went about naked because they couldn't afford clothes. The fear of Mao was so great however, that even with literally millions starving to death and even eating each other to survive, noone even tried to stop Mao. Yeey is well on his way. Like Mao he purged the leadership of anyone opposed to him, even when that opposition is for the good of the country or even for human decency. Like Mao he has exchanged the resources of his country in order to solidify his rule and guarantee personal and absolute power, and like Mao he doesn't care if a fifth of his citizens pay the ultimate price for his greed and arrogance. General Duke Posted January 2, 2008 ^^^Thats the best take I have read in a long time. Though Yey is not the old Chairman. I will give him the credit of being a strong leader, who is on the road to unify Somalia. Like Mao future leaders will use Yey's foundation to build a strong and prosperous Somalia. Armchair Politician Posted January 2, 2008 There are over a million and a half refugees in Somalia today, their crime being that they lived in the same city as those who opposed Yeey, or belonged to the same tribe. This is an act that Mao would have done, and did, many times. He never cared how many people died for his whims or fancies. China was and is an immensely rich country, and yet 30 years later they are still bandaging the wounds to their society, culture, heritage, environment, economy and people. Somalia simply cannot afford a Mao. What Somalia needs are bridge-builders, willing to meet people halfway. Yeey is not up to this task. He would rather kill nearly everyone and destroy everything as long as the survivors and the rubble acknowledged him as the emperor of Somalia.
Chimera Posted January 2, 2008 with countrymen like Duke who needs enemies? The guy uses Mao as an example of 'good' leadership my god it shows what kind of a corrupt sinister individual he really is the same man who killed and starved millions of Chinese civilians is what he wishes for Somalia and no wonder then that he backs that tiny troll who was dropped in the garbage bin by his mom also known as 'Yey the traitor' or more recently 'Yey the Vampire'(courtesy of Tahliil) he's what the dutch call 'een kip zonder Kop' ('a chicken without a head' lmao)
General Duke Posted January 3, 2008 There are over a million and a half refugees in Somalia today, their crime being that they lived in the same city as those who opposed Yeey, or belonged to the same tribe. No adeer theere are many Somali's who have left Mogadishu, beacuse the armed factions who ruled that city for 16 years, torched it attacked the TFG in Baidoa lost the battles in the bush. Their cowardly leaders vacated the city, opened the weapons stores to the civilains and then started an urban war at the governemnt. Thus the blame is 90% on the ICU militia who armed, paraded civilians women and children and sent them to war, lost the war they started. Then started an "insurgency" lost that as well and now cry and their supporters raise money for more land mines to be put in Mogadishu. All you are crying for is clan, you are defending those who started the war, those who made threats and assasinated civilians, old officers and used the faith Even in Mogadishu who started the bombings? Who claimed these bombings and gloated about them? Al-Shabaab All along the governemnt was telling them stop but them and their supporters started a war and started bombing civilians in Mogadisuu, assasinating elders, businessmen and civil servants. Its more than disgusting that those same people continue to talk about the "people". As for the other brothers comments [did you care for people when you was pushing for the clan-Jihad] spare me the tears, the rest of these fighters and their leaders will be dealt with soon enough.
