General Duke Posted June 27, 2006 SOMALIA: Islamist militias raid private homes FiicanCaadiHoose Qiimeyn: (0 ) • MOGADISHU, Somalia June 26 (Garowe Online) MILITIAS LOYAL to the Islamic Courts that now control Mogadishu and surrounding regions have intensified their campaign to ban the watching of the 2006 World Cup and foreign films. The Islamist militias entered private homes yesterday that they suspected of showing the international soccer tournement currently underway in Germany as well as foreign films without permission. Witnesses said the Islamist militias destoyed some viewing equipment in the private homes they raided in the Hamar-Jadid neighborhood of Mogadishu. The Islamic Courts banned the World Cup less than a week after they took over Mogadishu and cut off electricity into the cinemas showing the international matches. The Islamist leadership in Mogadishu believes that the cinemas and private homes also secretly show Western and Indian movies, including pornographic films. This moves comes a day after the Islamic Courts Union changed its official name to the Somali Council of the Islamic Courts (SCIC) and elected Sheik Hassan Dahir Aweys, whom the U.S. suspects of having ties to al-Qaeda, as chairman

Naxar Nugaaleed Posted June 27, 2006 propaganda? When did the truth become propagenda? just because don't lke the truth does not make it propagenda.
Resistance Posted June 27, 2006 ^^Propaganda is not telling lies rather is involves the art of manipulating the facts to ahcieve ur own objectives.. we lucky here since Duke is rather bad at manupulating the truth so usually his allegiance is very clear to us all,
ElPunto Posted June 27, 2006 ^It seems to me that it is not difficult to determine whether in fact they have banned ppl from watching the World Cup. If they have, then they are nasty, narrow minded tyrants wholly undeserving of the title Islamic.
Resistance Posted June 27, 2006 ^^^ What just because they close down cinemas, com'n deep down we all know footy etc are a waste of time and disract us from doing worthy actions.
General Duke Posted June 28, 2006 ^^^First lets not get personel here. This is an open forum, my contribution here can be taken in any way one likes. Second if the courts want to help the people of Mogadishu they should not try to ban the world cup while they watch people poison themselves chewing QAD. Start with that devil before attacking Cinemas other visual entertainment. These courts should also dismantle the occupation of lower Shabbele. So far its all hot air, they just headless chickens. Qandalawi Posted June 28, 2006 Im all for it, ban the world cup, Its an Isreali program orchestrated to brainwash and mislead the Muslims, watching it, what is in it for us, anyway we never won and not gonna win, better yet is liked and idolised in the Muslim lands than anywhere in the Universe. But rumors say Sheik Sharif Ahmed Supports Brazil, any one heard ?
Allamagan Posted June 28, 2006 ^^^^ looooool Tukaale, I dont see it as a problem if Sh. Sharif is a fan of Brazil. After all it is about the sport itself and not the one who plays and his beliefs.
