Suldaanka Posted July 10, 2008 ^ What is wrong with celebrating your adopted country's independence day? I mean, I wouldn't mind organising an Australia Day in Hargeisa with my fella Aussie landers and toss out some footy in the dusty streets as well. I could understand if USAID or any other US organisation organising this kind of xaflad then reer Hargeisa attending it, but it is the other way round. This whole thing seems odd, this article needs to be verified

N.O.R.F Posted July 10, 2008 Another example of Somalis getting their priorities wrong. I do detect a hint of hypocracy by the commentators but thats another discussion.

Maxaa barabagaandha laga qoraa Soomaali isma dhaantee, oo dhashood wada ahee. Qoraalka just iga yaabiyey, wax kale ma'ahee. Dad aan loo dirsan meel isku cariirinaayo, and of all things, talkng about unity and midnimo wanaagnimada ee leedahay concerning dad aanan waliba daris ahayn, while at the same time advocating the disunity of their own people. That alone ayaa yaab ah. And they are not, from what I understood from the qoraal, Soomaali Mareykan ka yimid. Waa dad iska camiranaayo, taloow laaluu$h iyo hunguri raadis mee ahayeen? Dhagax-Tuur Posted July 11, 2008 Could it be that because the US are the current superpower in the world, if one (in this case SL) remembers and celebrates the independence of the mother of freedom, as they claim, this could maybe give a push to SL's claim for Independence to be recognised? Just a thought. It is ridiculous. If a bunch of Landers who are citizens of the US have put this together in a sort of private way or something, it would have been kinda chewable, do you understand what I mean, but this.....NO! Irrational. There are somali kids who would have apprciated that food if they would have offered to them instead of wasting it celebrating US's July 4th.
