Cowke Posted October 15, 2009 Somalia: Al Shabab is Happy to Unite with Taliban (RBC NEWS) Published on: October 15,2009 Garowe Time 12:49 pm ABDALLE MUUMIN RBC NEWS. E-mail: cabdallemuumin2@gmail.com MOGADISHU- (RBC Radio)- As growing concern of the international community becomes harder than always, Al Shabab a armed group which the US said is an Al Qaeda’s proxy has said they are now happy to unite with Taliban fighters, whom the world journals reveaed they are crossing from Yemen to Somalia. Sheikh Ahmed Abu Yasir, One of Al Shabab’s top persons in Somalia told RBC Radio that the group is not much worry what the world sees a “dangerous”, meaning that Al Shabab and Taliban are the same objective. He said that to carry out any of the two groups’ goals thay must do every step which could make possible tu unite the two sides. The danger is most acute in this country, where lawlessness was rampant since the former military regime of Si’ad Barre had been toppled in 1991. The Transitional government, which has the international support controls little outside the capital of Mogadishu, and not even all of that city, the city is divided into many parts which its mostly controlled by Al Shabab. “Al Shabab is power full and can prevent TFG and other forces, we are not wory about that”, Abuu Yasir told RBC. The world media continues to cover Taliban members crossing from Yemen and Somalia border to unite with the Al Shabab fighters, but this has taken its chance already because these groups, Al Shabab and Taliban have been unified since US led troops invaded Afghanistan in 2001. so that it is easy to take good and strategical basis in Somalia. already manmy of Taliban fighters had reached Yemen to take part the wars between the government and the Shias militias of Huthis in the north of Yemen. But Al Shabab senior officers who called all Muslim fighters in the world to come to Somalia say there is no any law that prevents Muslim fighters to come in the country, even with out a visa. “No…… this land is for Muslims, Muslims belong it, every Muslim may come simply, we don’t need a visa or passport”, Al Shabab spokesman Sheikh Ali Rage Said in a public speach. Somali experts spoke about this matter say the situation in Somalia is better than in Yemen because of Taliban along side with Al Shabab may build strong groups of Islamists and also simply settle the ground with out any fear. Somali president Sheikh Sharif Seikh Ahmed warns with out international support this can be done nothing, Al Shabab already tried to topple the TFG as five months wars still going in the capital, Mogadishu. The U.S. military commandos last month launched a daring helicopter assault in which they took out the most-wanted al Qaeda operative in east Africa, Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, along with his bodyguards. Al Shabab vowed to compensate for Nabhan’s death, and then attacked AMISOM’s main base in Mogadishu short after weeks. Some experts say the need for that the TFG would make use of the new conflict between Al Shabab and Hizbul Islam in Kismayo is not power full one, because the TFG has no enough soldiers and money to deal with this matter. Any how if the TFG does not do more it seems that Al Shabab will be stronger one as the Xisbul Islam was defeated in recent clashes.
