^^^You seem to only make one point, as if you are stuck on one gear. Violence has decreased across the country, unless you think districts of Mogadishu are the country.

 

A month or so back we had a fulls csale clash we had the pundits predicting a regional war, we had attacks happening from Bewlweyne, Banderadlay, Baudoa, Idaaale, BurHakabo and so on. Thousands were involved.

 

Today its quite, there are no more two groups, there is one entity in control of the country. The flashpoint areas are quite, Idaale, Diinsoor, Bur=Hakab

Not exactly, there is no 'whole country'. Eastern and Mid-Southern somalia have been in effect two seperate mini-states. Where in the Bari, things have been under the control of the TFG defacto via Yusuf . Therefore when we say 'whole country,' it actually means: "what was already under the TFGs control" + "what has just come under their control".

 

Since the areas that were already under their control havent changed, they must be treated as constants. i.e. unless there is rivalry or a conflict of interest between eastern and mid/southern somalia any relative change in the safety of eastern somalia, only reflects local policies - independ of the rest.

Therefore if you want to make a case for the change for the TFG in the country as whole, what you have to talk about is the relative change in the safety in middle and southern somalia, since these are what has changed for the TFG.

 

Anyhow, it is reasonable to see a deterioration when a relatively distrusted power takes over, so it is premature for you to argue that they have become an agent of good, instead, the test for them is the longterm safety. What will it be like when/if they are in power for a year or 2 - two months is just too short.

 

 

And could you stop going on about "low grade violence" - Do people die low grade? Its like some foools argument for deaths being numbers. Violence is violence, people are still dying and its still tragic. Trying to wrap it up in americanims with their psuedo-technical language is just dishonerable to innocents that are caught in the middle
