Will Mogudishu fall to the hands of Abduallhi Yusuf just like Bosaso did years ago?

Even though people were saying the biggest showdown in Somalian history was going to go down in Bosaso.

 

here is some old news of the fall of bosaso will the same happen for Mogudishu?

 

Hassan Barisse: The forces of Colonel Yussuf captured Bosaso without any resistance at about 8 AM local time. The whereabouts of Jama Ali Jama is not known. But sources close to his aides say he left Bosaso to Qardho town yesterday afternoon by road to Iskushuban District about 160 km east to Bosaso from where he is reported to have taken a plane to an undisclosed destination. Some of Jama's supporters insist that he is still in Qardho town, but that sounds unlikely. Colonel Yussuf himself reached Bosaso town at about 11.30 AM local time and immediately went to the Presidential building in the town were he started receiving elders, religious scholars and women's groups, all of whom congratulated him on his victory. Ugas Hassan, one of the main traditional leaders of Puntland told me today in a telephone interview from Bosaso that the arrival of Colonel Yussuf followed a meeting between elders, Muslim scholars and politicians from Bosaso with Colonel Yussuf himself in Kalabayr District, some 60 km south of the town. According to Ugas Hassan, the elders and politicians asked Colonel Yussuf to respect the peace and that if he wants to come to Bosaso town, he could do so without fighting. All day yesterday and last night, the local FM radio in the town has been broadcasting messages from the Commander of the Police Forces in Bosaso, Colonel Jaatta (as heard) telling the people they should remain calm. Many people understood from that message the whole thing was a set-up between the elders, the Police and Colonel Abdullahi Yussuf.

 

RACHAEL AKIDI: That emailed report from our Correspondent, Hassan Barrise in Mogadishu. Well, Ismail Warsame is a spokesman for Colonel Abdullahi Yussuf Ahmed. Robin White asked him what the situation was.

 

Ismail Haji Warsame: Well, the city welcomed Abdullahi Yussuf. There was not a single bullet fired today. Traditional elders, intellectuals, women's group and the rest of the residents of Bosaso have met Abdullahi Yussuf at the gate of Bosaso to welcome and escort to the Presidential palace today.

 

Robin White: So, what happens here? Is there any chance of reconciliation?

 

IHW: With whom to reconcile? President Abdullahi Yussuf is trying to restore Law&Order. There is no fighting in Bosaso. There is no armed opposition against him. There was little resistance on the part of Jama Ali Jama. The people support Abduallhi government That is why Abdullahi Yussuf is in Bosaso without even a fight.

Your forgot to mention that he hade with him amxaro soldiers and that jama was democraticly elected, rer muqdisho will not give upp themselves to amxaro like the puntlanders who elected Jama. Its big miscalculation on A/yusuf's part if he thinks he can conquer muqdisho the same way he did with puntland with his amxaro army.

Mogadishu is no Bossaso, however the so called resisatance has come down to the simple man known as Sharif Xasan and his mentors Qaynyare and Sudi Yalaxow, and they are not much...

It will be wrong to compare Bosaso here is some crucial factors,

1) Mogadishu has about six to seven times more population nd land mass of bosaso.

 

2) Mogadishu is very coplex city, very divert of freindly and foe clans of yeey, I would say the majority are foe and dead against him.

 

3) Mugadishu has the largest arms ceach and lots of armed groups.

 

4) What made easy for yeey to capture Bosaso was when the native clans were disappointed by what Jama ali Jama was doing, and then they switched side.

 

5) Mogadishu armed gangs are battle hardened by 15 years of full time fighting, where most of Bosaso diffenders were bigginners and never shot a gun remember the phrase (BOOWE MA DURBA) lol.

 

So Yeey has to do his home work carefully, and has to have a good plan.

Absolutely nonsense. There was no single Ethiopian soldier in Puntland proper. Ethiopians didn't even encourage Abduallhi yusuf to take Bosaso.In fact the Ethiopian State were trying to mediate between Abdullahi Yussuf and his rival. Unfortunately, Jama Ali Jama refused to even sit with Abdullahi Yussuf in Addis Ababa at that time.

 

But I can't say the same for Muqdisho when the Ethiopian are needed they will come in and do there job with or without the consent of the U.N or any one else. Like it or not Muqdisho will fall in Abduallhi Yusuf hands. He is only miles away sooner or later. He is just waiting on the dump *** war-lords to attack first so they could finish the rest with the whole world on his side. Of course with the Amxaro's help Muqdisho will fall in hours.

hey kidd those war's united Puntlanders more than ever. We were a divided state and divided people. The fall of Bosaso was an historic day for all of us it marked the United Puntland and that we were not going to spilt in clan lines.

 

ARTA Faction which controls less than 2 streets in Mog, enforced by Djibouti. Were not going to bring down Puntland in to it's hands with the help of Jama ali jama. That was the whole reason for the take on Bosaso.

The ethopians gave heavy military aid to Abdulahi Yusuf, you dont remember what happened after he took bosasso? The battles that took place all over Puntland for years and major one in Duudo? You think after Boasasso things stop there? All the fighing with Somaliland? Even after he was elected as the TFG president there was a fight with Somaliland.

I mean, all I am saying is right now....THERE IS NO FIGHTING ANYWHERE. Of course things are far from perfect and lot must be worked on, but ridiculous amounts of money is not being spent on war any longer and money is going into an airport and other projects.

First of all those airports were started when Abduallhi Yusuf was the President. Second the situation at that time cause alot of money to be spend on war becasue the state of puntland was in an attack from many sides.From the Arta government in mogudishu, from Somaliland and also from some Puntlanders so why wouldn't the President spend every money that comes in on weapons becasue he had too becasue if he did not Puntland would have been in a different situation today.

 

So brother what you have to understand is that every thing has it's reasons.

Muqdisho falling into the hands of C/laahi Yuusuf!! Are we dreaming or what? The person who asked this question should think about Ethiopia's invasion of Mogadishu, instead of comparing Mogadishu with Bosaso. Both Mogadishu and Bosaso are not the same in all aspects, except they both happen to be in Somalia. The people are not the same. The history of both regions is not the same. The time is not the same. So, that prediction is completely out of mark. In reverse of that same prediction, can one say, Muqdisho will invade Bosaso if Mr. Abdullahi Yuusuf attacks Muqdisho? Yes, that possibility is valid, for we know in number and warfare tactics, the people in Muqdisho are capable of many things, espacially the superiority of wars.
