xiinfaniin Posted July 14, 2008 A withdrawal of Ethiopia’s troops will be a good start. A complete withdrawal will only engender Khayr adeer; the sooner they withdraw, the quicker we can commence a meaningful dialogue for out future. But as we will find out, Ethiopia’s presence is not the only problem facing Somalis.
Xaq Posted July 14, 2008 if there are enough UN troops(10000) then the TFG may be able to stay alive. They will have to make a power sharing deal with the shariif group. Then only the really extreme groups will be left out. this may result in some bombings here and there. however, there aren't enough of them to cause too much trouble. hopefully then we can have elections in 2009. This is the best case scenario.
Paragon Posted July 14, 2008 After the Ethiopians leave, we'll have peaceful Somalia come what may.

Suldaanka Posted July 14, 2008 I don't think the Ethio will leave Somalia all together but if they left Mogadishu alone or at the very lease decreased their number in Mogadishu itself, that will have a significant impact on the puppet regime. One of the most obvious thing that will happen in such a scenario is that, the TFG will start moving out of Mogadishu and will go to where ever the Ethio army might still have control over e.g. Baydhaabo etc. On the other hand, Mogadishu will become lawless as many actors try to vie for power and the warlords make a return. Already, Xaaji Muuse Suudi is in charge of his stronghold Karaan and there is more chance that other warlords will return to their strongholds. But over time, these warlords will be chased out of Mogadishu in a similar upraising like the 2006 one.

The Zack Posted June 18, 2009 ^LOL . If the Ethiopians leave a new crazy group will arise their name will be Al-shabaab and will behead anybody that opposes them. Now, that is what I predicted a year ago! Jokes aside, It is SSDD ( Same SH&^ Different Day). It used to be Warlord A, B, and C. Now it is Sheikh(warlord) A, B, C.
