Emperor Posted November 12, 2007 Shabelle Radio does not seem to learn from their mistakes, their reckless behaviour and support for the criminal gangs is too obvious for any Somali individual, that is an understatement, is rather controlled by the gang groups themselves . The TFG is too soft, lenient and have given them far too much space to manouvre, the should have kept it locked from day one and indefinately, take their possesions and property, stop it once and for all, never again... Xorriyatul qawl ayayba khalad kafahmeen, waaba loo naxariistay, I believe...
Resistance Posted November 12, 2007 They will return inshallah, is getting rather pathetic now whith closing down Shabelle every other month.

Pray tell how do you understand the freedom of speech and expression to be, saaxib?
Emperor Posted November 12, 2007 ^Sxb this is high level misuse and abuse of freedom of speech and has entirely nothing to do with FofS, this FofS BS have to have a limit, No? Alright lets talk about how NG had a good night with wifey here on SOL, ain't no limit for the free of S BS... poor impotent It's irritating how they are let loose every time to be caught again, ? Do we live by rules of the Jungle, there have to be stiff and strict measures... shut them for permenant.
NGONGE Posted November 12, 2007 ^^ Are there any government regulations in place? Are there any constitutional checks and balances? At any rate, as vulgar as your suggestion above was, I'll indulge you and declare here and now that should I wish to describe my nocturnal shenanigans with the Mrs, neither the admin or the moderator is going to delete them (well, unless their comprehension skills are lacking). It is not what you say; it is HOW you say it, saaxib. Unless the TFG sets some rules and lays down some laws, its closure of these News outlets should be resisted by all! Remember, the parliament is fully functional (or so it seems) and no state of emergency has been declared (or has it?). Therefore, the media should be free to report on what events as it sees fit. Government should not be allowed to interfere on editorial decisions. You can't on the one hand scream and shout about the dowlad diids yet you yourself agree with all the unlawful transgressions of the state. I thought you supported the TFG because you think it will bring Somalia back on its feet and not because of other personal interests! Make up your mind, saaxib. Seekknowledge Posted November 13, 2007 What are the charges? All editorials lean one way or the other and Shabelle is no different. I agree with Ngonge we should all be protesting.
BiLaaL Posted November 14, 2007 Shabelle is already legendary. It's brave, committed and highly professional reporters have done more than anyone else, in exposing the massacres being committed against innocent civilians. Shabelle's reporters have risked their lives to bring us the truth on the ground. They have lent their eyes and ears to the oppressed residents of Mogadishu when the rest of the world has turned theirs. Where else can one find documented evidence (both in audio and pictures) of the occupier's daily transgression against the residents of Mogadishu? Nowhere else. It is for this reason, that the work of Shabelle and its reporters goes beyond mere journalism. Shabelle is the only thing standing between reliable, impartial and up-to-date reporting of events in Somalia and a total news blackout. The occupiers would have been a lot more oppressive were it not for Shabelle's prying eyes. The occupiers and their agents may well succeed in silencing Shabelle this time round, but they should realise that the images that Shabelle has transmitted to the world and to the Somali public, have not gone unnoticed and will live on. Peculiar as it may seem, Shabelle's documented reports and interviews (with families members of victims and survivors of the Ethiopian + TFG perpetrated genocide) over the past year, will one day be used against the very people (Ethiopian generals and TFG ministers alike) wishing to silence Shabelle today. Emperor Posted November 14, 2007 ^Only barbaric inhumane beasts admire the style of shabelle reporting. Originally posted NGONGE: Unless the TFG sets some rules and lays down some laws, its closure of these News outlets should be resisted by all! Remember, the parliament is fully functional (or so it seems) and no state of emergency has been declared (or has it?). Therefore, the media should be free to report on what events as it sees fit. Government should not be allowed to interfere on editorial decisions. There exists rules and regulations set by the government which was not only notified to Shabelle but many news wires around the country, Shabelle in particular was shut down few times when they deliberately ignored that message, unlike Shablle there are many other Radio Stations that are against the TFG such as HornAfrik, Idacatul Quraan Alkariim and Universal TV which do continue their unholly propaganda against the Somali government but at least do it in a respected manner. There is law and order saaxib, If their station is shut down and some of them arrested to face charges and their cases heard and/or later be released as and when is appropriate, then that alone shows the level of tolerance and justice the government is displaying. However, it is the TFG's sole responsibility to act against what may globaly be termed as the extremest form of barbarism, that bombardment of dead bodies dragged.... as Shabelle's culture has become as of late I once remember when the Somali President said " Adeer dad waa dagaalaa askarina waa kadhimataa labada dhinac, ninki mayd jiid jiidanaaya hadde bahalnimadiisa ayay kutusaysaa " In my case midka ka qaadayaa 1000 different pictures of a single dead body from every angle parading it on the news portals is more Bahaahim and Bahal than those dragging the corpses. Saaxib, it is utterly irresponsible of the TFG should they allow barbaric behaviuor that would not be allowed in any of the most civilized so called democratic western countries. Shabelle is becoming legendary. What? How? By the turning (Ciyaalka Xaafada) the local kids on the street into beasts
ElPunto Posted November 14, 2007 ^I don't think Shabelle is barbaric - it is strongly hostile to the TFG and may stoke opposition against it through propaganda - but short of criminal wrong doing - I don't think media outlets should be shut down. I also don't quite understand the shutdown and reopen cycle - what's the point of that?
