Mathmatically it's not even possible to have a non ssdf president in the pirateland.Just look at their so called Parliament. The ssdf hegemony is undefeatable in their clan enclave.Goldogob have 4 seats in the parliament the maakhrians have nine. The garaads 17 parliamentarians. and the ssdf having 31. And there is no one man one vote elections like in the rep of somaliland. faroole got elected by the so called clan elders in the parliament. Former president daaahir rayaale kahin ruled somaliland 8 long years and he was the vp for 5 years and he was elected by the people. and his clan hails from one province in the rep of somaliland.

Actually not everything is possible. It is was absolutely impossible from someone from Sool or Sanaag (you know who I am referring to) to win the presidency in your last (s)election in June. So even if you say you have a democracy where people vote! I am telling you it is rigged so that people from Sool and Sanaag can't run!

 

Riyaale from a minority group won because Egal had passed away, the vice-president was from the dominant group which had heavy influence. If everything is possible then why didnt someone from Sool or Sanaag run?

 

Puntland needs to improve it's process of choosing it's leaders, it needs to bring one person one vote, it also needs to allow women to run as well. But the fact remains everyone can atleast attempt to win the presidency. The vice-pres is from Sool, Ilka-Jiir almost won.

 

Look, Puntland needs to make itself more inclusive and so does NW Somalia.

Puntland cannot claim to represent more than Garowe with Laas Caanood and Ceerigaabo under Hargeisa control. Realities must be understood as they stand. Puntland as it stands can claim to be represented by only Professor Abdiwali, a man I respect and admire and who is a good family friend. Gabbal might not know that the speaker of Puntland State is himself from Goldogob and we already know where the VP hails from and various powerful figures.

 

The problem here is under his logic his sub clan have no region since its all under Al Shabaab and Ahlu Sunna. We have also seen how successful old Hiiraale was in Beled-Hawo.
