Islamist leader Sheikh Sharif accused Ethiopia of “committing massacres against Somali Islamist supporters in Bay & Bakool and working to destroy everything that allows Somalia to stay alive. “The intensifying aggression in this barbaric way proves that Ethiopia has decided to push Somalia back 12 yearsâ€, he said. But Ethiopian Prime Minister defended the invention, claiming it was aimed the disarmament of Al-Itihad in line with US policy against International terrorism. He told visiting UN envoys trying to broker a peace-deal that “Ethiopia will continue the battle against Al-itihad, Eritrean Forces inside Somalia and will continue to strike targets belonging to the group until we destroy their militia and minimize the future threat against Ethiopian Interest in Somaliaâ€. Ethiopian Prime minister said we did not ruled out a massive ground offensive in a bid to crush Al-itihad Islamist Jihadist, which it has branded part of an “axis of terror†along with Hizbullah, Al-Qa’ida and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. Amid continued fears the conflict could spiral into a regional war involving Ethiopia’s arch-foes Islamist Oromo, Somali Region, Afar Islamist and 75% of Muslims in Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Air force said it had destroyed four trucks traveling from Somalia with weapons and munitions destined for OLF Islamist fighters in the Babili Valley of Ethiopia. The White House said Saturday it was keeping to its policy on backing Ethiopia’s right to self-defense against Al-itihad Elements in Somalia. Ethiopian forces Packed into tanks, Helicopters and armored cars cut across the border near the town of Wajid in what the Ethiopian army said was another “pinpoint operation†against Eritrean Military tactics inside Somalia. Ethiopian Army General said Ethiopian air and ground forces “have more or less completed taking over the villages of Southern Somaliaâ€, close to the Banadir border and strategically located 50 miles near the Indian Ocean.
