I completely agree and this is actually one of the most fundamental things that led me and many others to retract their earlier support to the organization of the UIC/ICU as it existed then.

 

I think this interview now shows the remnants of that group, apart from what I consider the true resistance of today, are now in a position where they are not anymore beholden to clan oriented businessmen or politicians.

 

I remember individuals on this forum always asking me "Horn you did not support the ICU, when did you turn around and start supporting resistance" and my reply has always been:

 

Adeer, this is not September 2006. That ICU of yesterday was rife with clan opportunists who succeeded in manipulating the true religious wishes of the people to wage "religious" wars for clan purposes.

I undertsand the young Hiiraale supporters position because the Clan Courts did turn the clan agenda on Hiiraale and his former friends Goobanle & Seeraar turned "Shiekhs" and put on the Arafat head scarf on their way to chase Hiiraale for religious reasons..

 

As for Janaagow, he is and was a top operative second to Sharif Ahmed and a local rep for his sub clan.
