Cowke Posted December 17, 2009 Shabelle Media Network (Mogadishu) Somalia: ****** Elders Call for Puntland Not Harm People From Southern Region 16 December 2009 Somalia — ****** traditional elders have Wednesday called for the administration of the semi-autonomous region of Puntland not to harm people from southern Somalia. Ahmed Diriye Ali, the spokesman of ****** traditional elders said that it was very important for Puntland administration to stop intimidation against the people from southern Somalia who were accused being behind planned killings and explosions in areas under the control of Puntland pointing out that it was a regrettable thing to happen demonstrations against the people from south. He reiterated that puntland to stop and solve actions against southerners saying that Somalis are brothers where ever they are. On the other hand Ahmed Diriye talked about the tribal clash in Bacad weyne village in Mudug Region calling for the warring sides to stop the fighting as soon as possible. The statement of the spokesman of ****** traditional elders comes as there is clan clashes which started yesterday and still continuing in Bacad weyne in central Somalia. The latest reports from Galka'o town in Mududg region say that the heads of two beheaded civilians from south of the country were found in the town. More people expressed shocking as they saw the bodies and heads of two men slaughtered in the town today. No group has claimed the responsibility of the killing action and it comes as large demonstration against the people from south Somalia happened in the town on Tuesday. Without Puntland, these anarchists(m-scoiety/USC), secessionists(marfashlanders), Ethiopian refugees(O.N.uff boys/caano-booreyaal) and religious deviants(Al Shaydhaan) would not know what to do with themselves, because Puntland is like a vessel into which they collectively pour their idiosyncrasies, preferences, abhorrences, prejudices, secrets, apprehensions and joys. Puntland is their unrealized dreams; Puntland is their innocence and guilt. Their doubts and certainties; Puntland has become their most generous and also most grudging response through these difficult times in Somalia.
