Senior somali army officers hold secret talks in Washington

Arranged by the somali Ministry of Defense and the UN Political Office for Somalia (UNPOS)

 

The meeting will look at ways of bolstering national security institutions in somalia and will look at the structure of Somalia's military before the collapse of the State and the best ways to address the country's current and future security needs.

The former Somali military officers participating in this meeting are respected for their experience in training soldiers.

This men have a lot to offer to their country. It is a good thing that they are being asked to go back and help in the formation of the Somali armed forces which will in the long-run be the best investment anyone can make.

Well there is a government in place and standing National armed forces that are working independently for the first-time since the fall of the last regime in 1991. This changes the dynamics.

Capturing new ground in Mogadishu, raising a standing armed forces that work without Ethiopian troops, breaking the back of the armed opposition and spreading government control to new areas are all signs of Progress. The Sharif government has been able to do in 3 months what the former quisling failed to do in 4 years.

I don't know where you get your news. Yaqshid is in government hands.

Bro,the only flip flopper here is the person who was supporting the government under Abdullahi Yusuf but opposes it today.

Yaqshid is fully and completely under the control of somali Government troops.

Al-shabaab spokesman has himself confirmed that they hve lost control of 2 districts of xamar and Yaqshid police station.

It is a legitimate point. There is no point in discussing anything with some-one who changes their views faster than a baby changes its diapers.

 

It is a never ending circle,hence, you should be reminded of your history and previous views. The ones you were vehemently defending 3 months back.

 

I argue with members with concrete views and principles. Not flip floppers
