Qandalawi Posted August 9, 2010 This is a welcome development, a good step to realising the federal system that was good route for solving the never ending Somali problem and towards attaining a greater Somalia in the form of federation. Advice to my seccessionist brothers in Hargeisa is to smell the coffee and seek this route before its too late and reality catches upto them. Aslo my call to the TFG and Puntland government is to support and co-operate with new federal state of Awdal in order to achieve their goal of installing local admin and government structures in Awdal. Mintid Farayar Posted August 9, 2010 Correct, gentlemen. A group-wide attempt to hide the Lose/Lose situation of Galgala. The damage control has already begun with the numerous photo postings of Ilka-Jiir standing with the Puntland militias. The subliminal message from the Puntland administration is that Reer Maakhir are still with us. However, there are opposite winds saying otherwise, such as the Maakhirian lady-parliamentarian on the BBC today. As a background, Puntland had to take this action since it was caught between a rock and a hard place in the international community's eyes. Two problems existed with international perception when it came to Puntland. One was the huge problem of piracy on its coast. The second was the presence of radical 'wadaads' within its sphere of influence. Tackling the piracy issue would have brought greater problems within the SSDF constituency (due to the proceeds received from the illegal activity) so the Galgala problem was chosen as the easier route (to verify Puntland as a responsible stake-holder in the Somali quagmire). I'll let you fill in the rest...
Saalax Posted August 9, 2010 Mintid Farayar, indeed faroole has seen it was easier to pick on an easier target ( galgala ) rather than the piracy problem, or the security problem in galckayo & the fake money that landed in the airport.
